Duper sheep (Dorper sheep), originating in South Africa, is bred by a cross between Dorset sheep and Persian blackhead sheep. It was originally bred and raised in the drier areas of South Africa. It is famous for its strong adaptability, rapid early growth and development, and good carcass quality. Dupo sheep are divided into white-headed and black-headed. Dupo sheep is mainly used in mutton production, it can effectively meet the requirements of all aspects of mutton production.

Duper sheep mainly eat the following kinds of feed:

Green fodder

There are many kinds of green fodder, including all kinds of weeds, various available branches and leaves, as well as artificially cultivated forage, leaf lai, aquatic green fodder and so on. Including 1 green feeding corn, 2 sorghum 2 green feeding barley, oats 3 ryegrass 4 awnless brome 5 alfalfa 6 sweet clover 7 purple yunying, etc., can be directly fed, can also be prepared into hay or made into silage. Green feed is the basic feed for goats, and it is more economical.

Silage

1 green cutting ear corn 2 green corn straw 3 all kinds of grass. This is a kind of feed made from lactic acid fermentation by chopping, compacting and sealing the green succulent feed in a silage kiln or plastic bag. Silage is characterized by sweet and sour smell, good palatability, rich nutrition and easy preservation. Sheep farms and professional sheep farmers can use it as an excellent feed for sheep in winter. The straw of barley, green corn and other crops, peanut rattan, Taro vine and all kinds of gramineous weeds and leaves can be used as silage materials. The main points of silage raw materials: 7-8 cm is suitable for thin-stem forage, and the thicker straw such as corn had better not exceed 1 cm. Dry roughage

1. Hay 2. Straw (corn straw, wheat straw, rice straw, grain straw, bean straw, etc.) 3. Blighted shell (pod, cereal shell, cottonseed shell, etc.). Dry roughage is an important feed in goat shed or half-house feeding period. Including hay and all kinds of crop straw, blighted shell, vine and so on, this is the most abundant resources and the cheapest feed. In order to make full and rational use of this kind of roughage, a scientific and reasonable processing method must be adopted to improve its feeding value.

Concentrate feed

Concentrate mainly refers to the fruits and processing by-products of Gramineae crops and leguminous crops. Such as corn, barley, soybean, wheat bran, cake, etc., concentrate feed is high in digestible nutrients, which is necessary to supplement meat sheep feed, especially in pre-slaughter fattening and winter and spring withered grass season.

Succulent feed

Mainly refers to carrot, potato, potato, sugar beet and pumpkin and other root tuber feed, characterized by high water content, low dry matter content, low crude fiber content, high vitamin content and high digestibility, so it is a good feed for meat sheep in winter and spring.

Animal feed

Mainly refers to fish, meat and dairy processing by-products and other animal products. Commonly used are eggs, fish meal, meat and bone meal, blood meal, feather meal, silkworm pupa, whole milk and skim milk and so on. Animal feed is a high-protein feed, which generally contains more than 50% protein. Animal protein feed is rarely used in ruminant animals, but animal feed can be properly supplemented in the lactation of Boer sheep, the peak period of breeding ram and the fattening stage of hybrid sheep.

Mineral feed

Natural feed contains mineral elements, but there are some problems, such as incomplete composition, different content and so on. Therefore, some minerals should be added to breeding ewes, breeding rams and lambs in the stage of growth and development during house feeding and grazing. Mineral feeds containing calcium include shell powder, stone powder and so on. The mineral feed containing calcium and phosphorus mainly includes bone meal and calcium phosphate.

Feed formula for Dupo sheep:

1. Fattening feed formula for lambs. Corn 62%, wheat bran 12%, bean cypress 8%, cottonseed meal 12%, stone powder 1.8%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1.2%, urea 1%, salt 1%, premix 1%. The formula contains 18% crude protein and 12.94 megajoules / kg of digestive energy.

two。 Formula of intensive fattening concentrate for house feeding. Early 20 days: corn 46%, wheat bran 20%, cottonseed meal or rapeseed meal 30%, stone powder 1%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1%, salt 1%, premix 1%. The formula contains 18.5% crude protein and 12.78 megajoules / kg of digestive energy. Metaphase 20 days: corn 55%, wheat bran 16%, cottonseed meal or rapeseed meal 25%, stone powder 1%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1%, salt 1%, premix 1%. The formula contains 16.8% crude protein and 13 megajoules / kg of digestive energy. The later 20 days: corn 66%, wheat bran 10%, cottonseed meal or rapeseed meal 20%, stone powder 1%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1%, salt 1%, premix 1%. The formula contains 15% crude protein and 13.2 megajoules / kg of digestive energy.

3. The choice of roughage. In order to improve fattening efficiency, we should make full use of natural forage, straw, leaves, agricultural and sideline products and various scraps. Fresh forage grass, fodder crops and hay and silage made from these raw materials have good palatability and high nutritional value, and can be fed directly. Low quality roughage, such as straw, blighted shell, pod shell and so on, should be processed and treated in order to obtain better feeding effect. The recommended diet formula for mutton sheep is as follows.

Formula 1: 0.5 kg of Gramineae hay or straw, 4 kg of silage corn and 0.5 kg of concentrate. This formula diet contains 40.6% dry matter, 4.12% crude protein, 0.24% calcium, 0.11% phosphorus and 17.97 megajoules / kg of metabolic energy.

Formula 2: 1 kg of Gramineae hay or straw, 0.5 kg of silage corn and 0.7 kg of concentrate. This formula contains 84.55% dry matter, 7.59% crude protein, 0.6% calcium, 0.26% phosphorus and 14.38 megajoules / kg of metabolic energy.

It is best to use pellet feed to raise mutton sheep. Among them, straw and hay powder can account for 55% and 60%. Concentrate accounts for 35% and 40%.
