First: the newly hatched pheasants are small, short and thin, low body temperature, weak body temperature regulation, and difficult to adapt to external temperature changes, that is, they are afraid of cold and heat, so they must be kept warm during brooding.

Second: the chicks grow and develop rapidly, and their body weight doubles every week within 4 weeks of age, so adequate and high-quality high-protein feed is required during brooding.

Third: the crop and muscle stomach volume of the pheasant is very small. The storage of food is very little, the digestive function is poor, and the digestive system needs to be developed gradually, but the chicks grow very rapidly, and the metabolism and nutritional requirements per unit body weight are large, so they should be managed as follows: feed is high in nutrients and easy to digest. A small amount of repeated feeding, continuous water supply, to meet its physiological needs to help digestion. If the feeding management is improper, the pheasant chicks will cause intestinal diseases due to indigestion.

Fourth: pheasants are very timid and sensitive to small changes in the external environment. Any external stimulation will lead to emotional tension and run around, affecting feeding and even leading to death.

Fifth: the disease resistance of pheasants is stronger than that of chicks, but a variety of diseases of birds may be transmitted to pheasants, especially gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases, so pheasants cannot be mixed with other birds. If technical treatment and proper drug treatment are given in the early stage of the disease, recovery will be faster than that of other birds.

Sixth: the young wild ridge has no ability of self-defense and is vulnerable to rats, cats, dogs, snakes and wild birds, so the nursery should have anti-counterfeiting facilities.

The ability of pheasant brooding to self-adjust temperature is poor. Artificial brooding, whether flat or caged, requires a higher and stable temperature. No matter which season it is, we should pay great attention to the heat preservation of the nestling house.

One: underground flue brooding heat preservation: the construction of underground flue in the brooding room is the most common way of brooding heat preservation in rural areas of our country. Underground flue repair method: according to the designed flue route to dig 35 cm wide, 25 cm deep near the stove end, 15 cm deep near the chimney end, brick 11 cm high and 20 cm wide flue in the ditch, covered with bricks or double-layer tiles, the joints of the flue should be sealed with cement mortar, so that fireworks can not come out from the joints to avoid pheasant poisoning. Fill the ditch with cinder, river sand, etc., and spread a layer of ash-sand concrete 5 cm thick under the ground. The coal stove is heated at the entrance of the flue, and the coal stove is strictly covered with ash, leaving only a vent as big as a finger to make the coal burn slowly. generally, it only needs to add coal once in the morning and once in the evening, and a chimney is built outside the house at the exit of the flue.

In order to prevent being naive and unable to avoid the heat source when the temperature is too high, the floor of 1xp3 should be left indoors without repairing the flue, the flue should be tilted so that the stove is lower than the flue mouth, and the initial 80 cm of the furnace surface connecting the flue should be made of double-layer masonry or fill with a depth of 10-15 cm, while the outlet end of the flue should only fill 3-5 cm, so that the temperature will not be too high near the coal stove connected with the flue. The height of the chimney is equal to 1 / 2 of the length of the flue. Fillers such as cinder, river sand, etc., should be filled around the flue with fast heat absorption, more heat storage and uniform heat dissipation.

Second: thermostat: according to the heat source of the thermostat, it can be divided into three types: electric heating type and coal furnace type.

1) Electric thermostat: the temperature of electrothermal thermostat is easy to adjust, easy to use and clean.

2) Coal stove thermostove: the coal stove insulator is made of umbrella or square cover made of white iron sheet or wood board installed on the upper part of the coal stove. The size of the cover is similar to that of the electric heat insulator. The coal stove not only requires the smoke out of the smoke hall to direct the flue gas out of the chamber, but also has an air intake pipe to the lower part of the coal furnace to provide oxygen, and adjust the ventilation volume according to the size of the air intake opening to control the combustion of the coal furnace. Coal stove brooding performance is stable, economical and practical, pay attention to indoor ventilation when using, to prevent gas poisoning.

3) Gas type thermostat: the gas type thermostat is made of single-layer alloy, and there is a dish-shaped refractory porcelain board with protruding noodles on the top of the umbrella, which is covered with sharp protrusions, and the flame spreads to the disk around, and the metal radiates downward after being heated to keep warm. The temperature mainly depends on the size of the flame and the adjustment of the umbrella. In addition, there is automatic temperature regulation equipment, the metal surface also emits heat energy, at the same time, it can increase room temperature.
