Whether grazing or house feeding forage grass has a certain effect in promoting turkey weight gain, increasing production capacity and improving feed utilization rate. However, there are also some defects, such as large amount of labor and limited site, which are not suitable for modern turkey production. At present, the feeding method is mainly the use of full-price feed. The raw materials that make up the full price feed are corn, barley, wheat, broken rice, bean cake, fish meal, alfalfa meal, wheat bran, stone meal, vitamins, minerals and so on.
Design principles of feed formula
The following principles must be taken into account in the design of feed formula: local feed resources and prices, and the selection of high quality and cheap raw materials as far as possible to reduce costs. The feed formulations of turkeys of different breeds or different physiological stages of the same breed are different, and attention should be paid to appropriate adjustments in use to alleviate the effects of climate, disease and other stress. When the feed formula changes, it should be changed gradually. The feed formula can be designed by trial and error method, formula method, square method, line drawing method and computer method. No matter what the method, the basic principle is to meet all the nutritional needs and balance of turkeys by adjusting the content of all kinds of feed materials. When high-energy feed is needed, the proportion of cereals should be increased in the formula, and if high-protein feed is needed, the proportion of plant or animal protein raw materials such as fish meal and bean cake should be increased. The feed formula actually used should be adapted to local conditions and should not be copied mechanically.
Formula for chicks
Suitable for 0-8-week-old, the total amount can be adjusted to 100% by increasing alfalfa meal or wheat bran by 0.41%.
The amount of soybean powder in the formula is relatively high. If the amount of soybean powder is reduced by 10%, and the amount of alfalfa powder needs to be reduced by 4.5% at the same time, then adjust soybean meal 8.69%, soybean meal 27.47%, corn 36.56%, and alfalfa meal 2.7%.
Or less soybean meal 10%, add corn gluten meal 7.44%, then adjust soybean meal .96%, soybean meal 17.34%, corn 34.75%.
If you do not use soybean meal, adjust soybean meal to 34.2%, corn to 29.72%, and add animal fat 4.3%.
If imported fish meal is reduced by 5%, meat and bone meal is added by 5% and alfalfa meal is reduced by 1%, corn is 31.14%, soybean meal is 20.49%, shell meal is 0.19%, and bone meal is removed and methionine 0.02 is added.
If soybean meal is reduced by 10%, imported fish meal by 5% and alfalfa meal by 4.5%, meat and bone meal by 5% and peanut kernel cake by 4.17%, corn is adjusted to 36.26%, soybean meal by 24.7%, shell meal by 0.19%, and bone meal is removed. 0.02% methionine is added.
Formula for breeding
Suitable for 9-16 weeks old, need to add methionine 0.02%, all nutritional indicators can be met. The matching amount can be adjusted to 100% by reducing alfalfa powder by 0.07%.
If soybean meal is reduced by 10% and alfalfa meal by 4.5%, soybean meal is adjusted to 3.18%, alfalfa meal is 3.56%, corn is 49.11%, and soybean meal is 21.96%.
If you add 4% peanut kernel cake, 3% cottonseed cake and 2.41% rapeseed cake, adjust soybean meal to 4.41% and corn to 42.75%.
If the use of alfalfa powder is reduced by 4%, wheat bran will be increased by 5.96%, corn by 41.63% and soybean meal by 12.98%. Or adjust to add rice, beer trough, rice bran and other raw materials.
Formula for breeding
Suitable for 17-26 weeks old, need to add methionine 0.01% and lysine 0.12%, all nutritional indicators can be met. The matching amount can be adjusted by increasing alfalfa meal, wheat bran and so on.
The dosage of alfalfa meal in the formula is on the high side. If it is reduced by 10%, wheat bran is increased by 14.9%, corn is adjusted to 52.2%, alfalfa meal is 8.47%, and soybean meal is removed.
Or reduce alfalfa meal by 10% and increase sweet potato leaf meal by 10.57%, then adjust corn to 56.01%, soybean meal to 13.2%, and alfalfa meal to 8.47%.
If you reduce the amount of alfalfa meal and corn at the same time, you can reduce alfalfa meal by 10%, increase rice by 20%, adjust corn to 39%, alfalfa meal to 8.47%, soybean meal to 2.46%, and increase wheat bran by 5.5%.
A recipe for growing turkeys
When used in the laying period, 0.01% methionine needs to be added, and all nutritional indicators can be met. Reduce alfalfa powder by 0.32% in the formula to 100%.
In the formula, the amount of alfalfa meal is on the high side. If it is reduced by 10%, wheat bran will be increased by 14.9%, corn by 46.14%, soybean meal by 2.05%, and alfalfa meal by 6.2%.
Or at the same time reduce corn consumption, reduce alfalfa meal by 10% and add barley by 20%, adjust corn to 33.74%, alfalfa meal to 6.2%, soybean meal to 1.05%, and increase wheat bran by 8.3%.
Fattening formula
Suitable for fattening meat turkeys after 18 weeks of age, 0.05% methionine and 0.5% lysine need to be added, and all nutritional indicators can be met. The total amount can be adjusted by adding crushed rice, soybean powder, peanut kernel cake and other raw materials. If broken rice is added by 8.45%, corn needs to be reduced by 8.79%, soybean meal by 0.59%, and wheat bran by 0.93%. If the wheat bran is not increased, the matching amount will be adjusted to 100%.
If the amount of sorghum in the formula can be reduced by 10%, it will be adjusted to 5.52% for sorghum, 70.79% for corn, 6.85% for soybean meal and 1.79% for alfalfa meal.
If you reduce the use of sorghum and corn at the same time, such as reducing sorghum by 5% and adding broken rice by 30%, adjust corn to 34.94%, sorghum to 10.52%, soybean meal to 4.85%, and increase wheat bran by 4.45%.
