Wild duck is a typical representative of waterfowl, which is the common name of mallard duck (mallard) in the northern hemisphere. Wild duck belongs to bird class, goose-shaped order, duck family; its number is very large, is the popular name of many kinds of wild ducks, there are more than ten species. The nestling method of wild duck seedling is divided into indoor off-the-ground net brooding and indoor ground fence brooding. The brooding technology of wild duck seedling is very important, so what preparations need to be made in the early stage of wild duck nursery?

Preparatory work

(1) selection and purchase of wild duck seedlings. When buying wild duck seedlings, they must be selected from healthy, high-yielding populations and wild duck farms with high reputation and strong technical strength. Wild duck larvae must be healthy, lively, free from trauma and deformities.

(2) cleaning and disinfection of wild duck nursery.

1) cleaning house: before entering the duck, you must clean the dust, scraps and other stolen goods in the nursery and the sundries around the nursery, then spray the ground with caustic soda water, or sprinkle it around the nursery with white lime.

2) cleaning: soak the food trough and drinking water utensils in the disinfection pool with detergent, then soak with disinfectant solution, finally rinse with clean water and dry.

3) Disinfection: put the feeding trough, drinking fountain and various tools used in brooding into the brood room, then close the doors and windows and fumigate with formaldehyde. During fumigation, the humidity of the house is more than 70%, the temperature is above 10 degrees, and the disinfection dose is 42 ml of formalin plus 42 ml of water per cubic meter, followed by 21 grams of potassium permanganate. 1-2 days later, open the doors and windows, ventilate and dry the duck house. 2-3 weeks after the empty house, fumigation was carried out again about 3 days before entering the duck.

(3) preheating and testing temperature. Ducklings are sensitive to the change of external temperature and are greatly affected by low temperature. ducklings within one week old show symptoms such as clustering and anorexia when the temperature is lower than 28 degrees, which not only affects the growth and development of ducklings, but also causes high mortality of ducklings. Therefore, the heating and heat preservation of the duckling house directly affect the feeding effect of ducklings.

1) heating equipment: the heating methods of elegant houses are electric heating, boiler heating, hot chicken stove heating, coal stove heating and ground Kang heating, etc., electric baby umbrellas are mainly used for raising chicks, and generally a household guardrail is set around them, which is conducive to heat preservation and prevent ducklings from leaving the heat source. Boiler heating is the heating situation commonly used in large duck farms. Coal stove and ground Kang heating are generally used in small duck farms and individual duck farms. Coal-fired stoves and ground Kang heating are generally used in small duck farms and individual duck farms, coal-burning stoves are dirty, chimneys must ensure that there is no air leakage, coal is burned outside the duck house, there is no pollution in the duck house, and the air quality is good.

2) according to the heating time and temperature requirements, the duck house must be heated 24 hours before entering the house, especially in the cold season, the temperature rises slowly, and the preheating time of the duck house should be advanced. The temperature requirements of the duckling house vary with the way of heating. When using the parachute for heating, the temperature under the umbrella is controlled at 34-36 degrees at the age of 1 day, the temperature at the edge of the umbrella is controlled at 30-32 degrees, and the temperature in the rearing room is 24 degrees. Using the whole room heating, the room temperature at the age of 1 day is required to be kept at 29-31 degrees. With the gradual growth of ducks, feathers gradually plump, and the heat preservation capacity is gradually strengthened. The temperature requirement is also reduced, so the temperature in the brooding room should gradually decrease with the increase of duck age, but do not take the method of sudden cooling.

4 bedding: the ground level needs to be covered with 8 centimeters of cushion on the cement floor, which should be laid 24 hours before brooding at the latest, usually before the chicken house is disinfected for the second time. Bedding materials are required to be dry, mildew-free, non-toxic and highly absorbent, such as cut into wheat straw or rice straw with a length of about 10 centimeters, rice husk is a better cushion, shavings can cause chronic disease on the soles of the feet and chest cysts, using sawdust as a cushion requires laying a layer of newspaper on the sawdust a few days before brooding to avoid ducklings pecking at sawdust.

(5) fodder, utensils and medicines for wild duck seedlings. Feed, feeding utensils and all kinds of health medicines must be prepared before brooding. Before entering the chick, wash, disinfect and dry all the brooding equipment, add duckling material to the material plate, add drinking water to the drinking fountain, put the feeding tray of ducklings evenly, and place the material tray about 20 centimeters away from the edge of the umbrella when using electric parachute for brooding.
