Pelteobagrus fulvidraco (scientific name: Pelteobagrus fulvidraco), belongs to the family Pelteobagrus, Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. The body length is about 20cm, the ventral surface is straight, the posterior part of the body is laterally flat, and the tail stalk is slender. The head is large and flat, the kiss is short, round and obtuse, the upper and lower jaws are slightly equal, the mouth is large, the lower position, and there are fluffy tooth bands on the two faces and palatine bones. Small eyes, lateral position. 4 pairs of whiskers, the end of the nose can be extended to the back of the eyes, 1 pair of maxillary whiskers, the longest, 2 pairs of whiskers, shorter than the upper whiskers. The body is naked and scaleless, and the lateral line is complete. Omnivorous, staple food small benthic animals, shrimp, aquatic insects and some invertebrates and so on. When spawning from April to May, parent fish have the habit of digging holes to build nests and protect their offspring. During the reproductive period, males have the habit of building nests. Live in still water or slow-flowing shoals, sleeping during the day and out at night. It is widely distributed in all Pacific river systems in eastern China.

How to breed Pelteobagrus fulvidraco in pond?

1. Water conditions:

Pelteobagrus fulvidraco likes to live in still water or slow water. The range of survival temperature is 0 ℃ ~ 39 ℃, the most suitable water temperature for growth is 22 ℃ ~ 28 ℃, the optimum pH value is 7.0 ~ 8.5, and the suitable dissolved oxygen is more than 3.0mg / L.

2. Pond conditions:

The ponds with sufficient water source, good water quality, convenient injection and drainage, flat bottom, less silt, no water seepage and no leakage can be cultured in ponds with an area of 3 to 5 mu and a water depth of about 1.5 meters. to prevent the loss of fish fry when the water rises. Large ponds should be equipped with aerators. 10 to 15 days before the release of fish fry, 75 kilograms of quicklime or 10 kilograms of bleach per mu were dissolved and pulped and sprinkled in the whole pond to kill wild miscellaneous fish and pathogens in the pond. After clearing the pond for 5 days and 7 days, add about 1 meter of fresh water to reduce ammonia, nitrogen and nitrite.

3. Stocking of fish species:

Generally, 40 to 60 thousand Pelteobagrus fulvidraco with tail weight 6~8cm per mu of water surface should be stocked, and the size of the species should be the same. In order to prevent the occurrence of fish disease, the fish should be medically washed during stocking, usually with 10ppm potassium permanganate or 2% to 4% salt solution for 5 to 10 minutes.

4. Feed:

Pelteobagrus fulvidraco is a carnivorous omnivorous fish. it likes to eat "live, fishy and soft" fodder. After crushing animal bait such as small fish, shrimp, snail clam meat and leftovers from livestock and poultry processing plants, Pelteobagrus fulvidraco is fully mixed into balls with soil flour (secondary flour) as binder. it can also be fed on the bait table or artificial compound pellet feed. The reference formula is: fish meal 30%, bean cake 30%, wheat bran 20%, corn 10%, soil flour (secondary flour) 16%, meat and bone meal 1%, mineral additive 1%, multi-dimensional 1%, fish oil 1%. Special feed for Pelteobagrus fulvidraco or general feed for fish with more than 40% protein can also be used. Feeding should be timed, fixed, qualitative and quantitative, with daily feeding accounting for 2% of the fish's body weight, and flexibly controlled according to water temperature, weather and fish intake. Pelteobagrus fulvidraco is usually fed once every day from 9 am to 10:00 and from 4 pm to 6 pm. Because Pelteobagrus fulvidraco likes to feed in low light, it is fed with 1max 3 in the morning and 2max 3 in the afternoon. When the standard seedlings were first put into Datang, as the seedlings were small, they should be fed with powder as far as possible, and after a little larger, they could be fed with granules. Planktonic feed is now widely used, you can see whether the fish are full or not, and the fish can stop feeding after they no longer eat the feed.

5. Feeding and management:

Pelteobagrus fulvidraco belongs to bottom fish, which likes high dissolved oxygen and fresh water quality. paying attention to water quality regulation can promote its growth and improve feed utilization rate. In general, from May to June, fresh water is injected every 15 days; from July to September, new water is injected once every 10 days, with 10ml 15cm each time. The water quality is too fat, you can first discharge part of the old water, and then add new water, the transparency is about 35 cm. Always keep the water quality 'fat, alive, tender and cool'. In the early morning, the dissolved oxygen in the pond water is low, and sometimes there is a lack of oxygen. At this time, it will be found that Pelteobagrus fulvidraco constantly jumps out of the water. Measures should be taken immediately to inject new water, start the aerator, increase the oxygen content in the water, adjust the water quality, and make the fish no longer float.

VI. Disease prevention and control

Pelteobagrus fulvidraco has strong disease resistance and few diseases. as long as it is properly prevented, it is generally not easy to occur. Add 1% salt to the feed regularly and feed it continuously for 5-7 days. The bait should be fresh and clean, and should not be fed with rotten bait. Sprinkle 20g / m3 of quicklime in the whole pool every 20m / m for 30 days. Sterilize with 1-1.5 mg / m3 of bleach or 0.3 mg / m3 of strong chlorine once a month and kill insects regularly. Once the disease is found, it should be examined by microscope in time, after comprehensive analysis and diagnosis, the right medicine should be given to the case, and the measures of pool water renewal and disinfection should be strengthened. At the same time, fish damage should be avoided in fishing, release and transportation, so as to prevent water mildew infection in early spring, autumn and winter.
