In broiler production, light is very important, the purpose of light is to increase feed intake and promote growth of broilers. Suitable light can meet the feeding needs of chickens, reduce the activities of chickens, and maximize economic benefits.

The main results are as follows: 1. at present, the lighting problems of broilers are in the whole growing period of broilers, and now most farmers have adopted continuous light, and the light intensity is also unreasonable. Some light intensity is too large, some light intensity is insufficient, and the height of the light bulb is not suitable. The placement of the light bulb is uneven, resulting in uneven light, and the light intensity is reduced because the lamp is not often wiped. Although the continuous lighting of broilers prolonged the feeding time, it did not increase the feed intake, but decreased the feed reward, increased the lighting cost, increased the stress to the chicken flock, and increased the mortality of the chicken flock in the late growth stage. the total economic benefit is not high.

Second, the correct lighting scheme

1, the arrangement of the light bulb: the height of the light bulb is generally about 2 meters, which will not affect people's daily operation, and it is also easy to wipe the light bulb. The light bulbs should be arranged evenly, and the distance between the lights should be 2-3 meters.

2. light time and intensity: for open chicken coops, 24-hour light and strong light are used in the first three days of rearing chicks, which can help chicks familiarize themselves with the environment and fully eat and drink water, about 5 watts per square meter, with 45 watts of light bulbs, and 23 hours of light at the age of 4-7 days. After 7 days of age, you can shine naturally during the day, turn on the lights for 1 hour and turn off the lights for 1 hour at night, using weak light, about 2 to 3 watts per square meter, and 1 to 1.5 watts per square meter at the beginning of the third week, and turn on the lights for 1 to 2 hours at night. Turn off the lights for 1 hour. If the light in the chicken coop is too strong during the day, it can also be shaded properly. In order to distribute the light intensity evenly, do not use light bulbs of more than 60 watts.

For fully enclosed chicken sheds, intermittent lighting can be used throughout the day at the beginning of the second week. Compared with the current lighting scheme implemented by most chicken farmers, this lighting scheme can reduce the stress of chickens, reduce the incidence of sudden death and ascites, reduce the total elimination rate, and save electricity bills. The chickens are quieter in the low light environment, because the amount of exercise is reduced, which is beneficial to the growth and fattening, thus the feed reward is increased, and the total economic benefit is obviously improved.
