How to do a good job of disinfection of free-range households and breeding grounds and pigsty?

(1)After culling sick pigs and pigs of the same herd, the site must be cleaned and disinfected.

(2)Wear protective clothing before washing and disinfecting.

(3)The manure in the pigsty should be thoroughly removed, and the pig manure scattered in the yard should be collected and stored for sealed fermentation or incineration.

(4)Water should be poured when cleaning up accumulated poultry manure, and manure dust should not be raised.

(5)Disinfect the premises and poultry houses thoroughly with disinfectants, and destroy used personal protective articles such as gloves, plastic bags and masks in a centralized manner.

(6)Reusable items must be cleaned twice with detergent to ensure cleanliness.

(7)Soak the clothes worn during culling in hot water above 70℃ for more than 10 minutes, wash them with soapy water, and dry them in the sun.

(8)Wash hands and bathe after handling dirt.

Highly pathogenic porcine blue ear disease virus has poor survival ability in external environment. As long as disinfection measures are appropriate, disinfectants commonly used in pig production practice, such as aldehydes, chlorine-containing disinfectants, phenols, oxidants, alkalis, etc., can kill viruses in the environment. It is better to use the following disinfectants to disinfect the environment of the house:

(1)Aldehyde disinfectants: formaldehyde, polyformaldehyde, etc., among which formaldehyde fumigation is the most commonly used. Closed pens can be fumigated by adding 7~21 grams of potassium permanganate per cubic meter to 14~42 ml of formalin. When fumigating, the room temperature should generally not be lower than 15℃, the relative humidity should be 60%-80%, potassium permanganate can be added to the container first, then formalin, closed doors and windows for more than 7 hours can achieve the purpose of disinfection, and then open the doors and windows ventilation, eliminate residual smell.

(2)Chlorine-containing disinfectants: including inorganic chlorine-containing disinfectants and organic chlorine-containing disinfectants. The disinfection effect depends on the content of available chlorine. The higher the content, the stronger the disinfection ability. 5% bleach solution can be sprayed on animal housing, cages, feeding troughs and vehicles for disinfection.

(3)Alkali preparations: mainly sodium hydroxide and quicklime, etc., most of the sodium hydroxide preparations for disinfection are crude lye containing 94% sodium hydroxide, which are often heated into 1%-2% aqueous solution, which are used for disinfection of poultry house floors, walls, sports grounds and dirt contaminated by viruses, as well as for disinfection of slaughterhouses, food factories and other floors and transportation vehicles. Spray for 6-12 hours and rinse with clean water.
