Last Updated: 2024/11/05, In our country, if there is outbreak diarrhea or cross infection and other diseases in pigs, most of them will inject antibiotics to resist diseases. The residue of antibiotics in pork becomes a big health hazard for consumers. At present, non-resistant breeding technology has been developed at home and abroad, using microbial system.

In China, if there are diseases such as explosive diarrhea or cross-infection in live pigs, most of them will be injected with antibiotics to fight the disease, and the residue of antibiotics in pork has become a big health risk for consumers. At present, non-resistant culture technology has been developed at home and abroad, using microbial preparations to replace antibiotics, competing with pathogens by increasing the number of probiotics in pig intestines and producing bacteriostatic substances to reduce the number of pathogens and reduce the probability of infection.

Chen Zhengjun, an associate professor at the State key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology at Huazhong Agricultural University, used high-density lactic acid bacteria fermentation technology to reduce costs. The cost of this "therapeutic" yoghurt is no more than 50 yuan per liter. A piglet weighing 20 or 30 kilograms only needs a dose of 0.5 ml-1 ml to achieve disease resistance. As a result, the average cost of a pig is only about 5 cents, which is nearly a hundred times cheaper than a normal vaccine of 3 to 5 yuan per dose.

In October last year, pigs in a pig farm in Jiangxia District suffered from diarrhoea, and the laboratory sent 2 liters of vaccine, and the epidemic of 300 pigs was quickly brought under control. Chen Zhengjun said the vaccine will be tested and promoted on a larger scale this year.
