New technology of pangolin culture
I think many people have heard of pangolins. Pangolins are protected animals belonging to the state in our country, and their medicinal value is very high, so the demand for pangolins in the market is still relatively large, and wild pangolins are not allowed to be hunted and killed. so many people began to breed pangolins.
What is pangolin?
Pangolin is a terrestrial mammal with a long, narrow body, scaly nails all over the body, thick and short limbs, a flat and long tail and a slight bulge on the back. Live more in subtropical deciduous forests. During the day, he often lives in the cave and clogs it with soil. They often go out at night to find food, sleep during the day and go out at night, and curl up into a ball when they meet the enemy. The third Saturday in February every year is World Pangolin Day. At present, pangolins belong to the national first-level protection of wild animals in China.
Choose places with tidal temperature, shade, shelter from the wind to the sun, and no sand and gravel soil layer for breeding. The size of the site depends on the amount of feed, and should not exceed 2 pairs per 10 meters. The site is surrounded by a wall of more than 2.5 meters, and the ground is covered with cement 12-15 cm thick to prevent pangolins from digging holes to escape. Another 4-5 hill bags are piled in the farm, planted with turf, planted with pine trees and some evergreen trees, and a small pool is preset on the floor for drinking water and washing, and the pool is kept alive. Place cow dung and ignorant bait in the field or bury some perishable fishy things to attract ants and other insects. Luminous lights can also be installed in the venue to attract insects such as flying wax for pangolin consumption at night.
The method of feeding pangolin by artificial breeding
1. 6 or 8 pits 1 meter long, 40 centimeters wide and 50 centimeters deep are preset in the farm, and the pine bark of 2 picks and 3 pines are put on them. The fresh trees of 1 picket 3 are covered with soil and poured with rice water every day for 3 consecutive days. Termites can be born within 7 days after 10 days.
2. Mix chicken feathers, lees and garbage with water to form a semi-paste pile, cover it with mud, and grow worms after 10 days. Usually buy some small fish, deep-fry and then crush them, put them on the ground, put 100-150 grams at each point, put 3-4 points, and let them eat freely. Properly add vitamin C, vitamin E and trace elements (such as Zheng, iron) and prickle hormone to the diet, and pay attention to the timely replacement of the diet. Usually according to the bait that can be eaten, it can be increased day by day. Just caught pangolin, generally will refuse to eat, at this time should use the method of irrigation, generally 2-3 days can be taken. Pangolins can reproduce in four seasons, 1 male with 4 females, giving birth to at least 2 babies a year, each giving birth to 1-2 babies. The newborn cubs are scaleless, white, and take breast milk as nutrition. After the weight reaches 250 grams, you can live independently. Pangolin generally a small seedling weighing 200 grams to winter weight should reach 500 grams or so.
Pangolin is easy to suffer from three diseases after being raised for a period of time.
1. For lice disease outside the body surface, bathe the body surface with 10 ml anti-lice essence mixed with 3-4 kg of water.
2. Gastrointestinal disease, diarrhea and less food intake. At this time, trimethoprim, oxytetracycline and chloramphenicol should be added to the diet for 4 or 6 days.
3. Coccidiosis, add sulfur powder to the diet (0.5kg feed added 2g 3g) and feed continuously for 3 days for 4 days.
Culture conditions of pangolin
The farm should be warm in winter and cool in summer, and the temperature should be 16 ℃ ~ 32 ℃. In the summer high temperature season, pay attention to shading and cooling, and keep warm in time in winter. According to the situation, culture methods such as pool type, closed type, cave type and wooden box type can be selected.
1. Pond farming: build a number of 20~40m2, high 50cm brick or stone ponds in the quiet part of the courtyard, which are rectangular or square in shape. The bottom and walls of the pool are covered with cement to make them strong and smooth to prevent pangolins from escaping. Several pangolin caves are built with stones in the pool, and a large amount of soil is piled on it, each separate from each other. There is a 5~10m2 activity place in the middle of the pool, on which a large amount of soil is accumulated and weeds and small trees are planted to create a good activity place. A large number of trees should be planted around the field to shade the sun. In the summer rainy season, there should be something to cover the rain, and leave a special drainage channel to prevent Rain Water from soaking the cave.
2. Closed aquaculture: it is composed of indoor 2~4m2 hut and outdoor 4~6m2 activity place. Both indoor and outdoor are cement floors, and there are caves for pangolins to live in. There are walls or barbed wire around the activity field, and the top of the cage is closed with barbed wire. Each cage can raise 2-4 pangolins.
3. Underground cave culture: the area can be 20~50m2, surrounded by walls, the walls are hard and smooth, the wall height is about 2m, sandy clay ground, artificial caves, with rockery, grass and other natural living environment. You can keep more than 10 pangolins.
4. Wooden box cage: make a rectangular wooden box, the size of which should be more than 2 times the body length of the pangolin, divided into two internal and external rooms, connected by a round hole for animals to go in and out freely and rest.
With the continuous development of aquaculture technology in China, many new aquaculture techniques continue to rise, so as farmers should keep pace with the times and constantly learn new aquaculture techniques in order to develop their own aquaculture technology better.
