New technology of golden cicada culture
cicadas are also called cicadas, cicadas and cicadas. The body length is 2-5 cm (0.8-2 inch), with two pairs of membranous wings, compound eyes protruding and 3 single eyes. There are two species of Cicadellidae, commonly known as hairy cicadas, which are only distributed in southern Australia.
Provenance acquisition
Eggs, nymphs and adults can be collected as provenances. Various insect states can be collected from July to September; August to September is the best season to collect nymphs; September is the best time to collect cicada egg branches, which can be collected in the field all the year round. The collection of spawning branches should be taken as the main way to obtain provenance. With a fruit branch shears or a long rod with hooks at the top, the 1-2-year-old thin dry strips that were killed by cicadas spawned yesterday were lightly removed. Cicadas eggs are those whose one side is flat and dry and the surface is incomplete, and the subcutaneous xylem inlaid with a large number of milky white long oval eggs. Cut off the redundant eggless shoots in the upper part of the spawning nest, leave 10cm in the lower part of the spawning nest mark, and tie about 50 pieces into a small bundle and put them into a plastic bag for use.
Reproductive species
After collecting the branches with cicada eggs, remove the dry leaves, cut off both ends, tie 30 into a bundle, spread a layer of sand at the bottom of the large laundry basin, put the bound branches into the basin, keep the temperature at 28 ~ 34 °C, and the humidity is kept moist, that is, spray when dry, spray the branches thoroughly with a sprayer. The larvae hatched in about 15 days. At this time, you will see some larvae climbing up and down the branches. About 20% of the hatched larvae are buried, choosing areas with fine soft roots so that the larvae can absorb nutrients from the roots, preferably in plots where honeysuckle is planted.
Rearing
Choose healthy tree species with developed lateral roots, luxuriant growth and more juice. in addition, it is necessary to interplant some rhizome plants, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams and so on. The breeding depth of clam cicada should be 30cm to 50cm, should be sunny and frostproof, the soil should be soft, fertile, pollution-free, not too dry, the water content should not be too high or the phenomenon of stagnant water should exist, so as to ensure the normal growth and development, tender and juicy root system of host plants. In winter, wheat straw, rice straw and corn should be covered in the breeding area to maintain the ground temperature.
Reproduction
In addition to the natural collection of cicada eggs, a screen greenhouse can be established to provide space for adults to lay eggs.
The fruit trees in the abandoned orchard can be used to replant fruit tree seedlings, surrounded by cement columns or bamboo sticks to form a fence, and then set up iron wire in the middle, which can be covered with nylon window screen. Eclosion or collection of adults in which they mate and lay eggs, the number of adults can be retained as needed in the future, and there is no need to collect provenances from the wild.
Pest control
There are many natural enemies of unearthed nymphs (cicadas) and adults after Eclosion, such as toads, snakes, rodents, cunning, wild cats, sparrows and champagne. Microorganisms such as Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae and parasitic algae (cicadas) are also parasitic. In addition, the pollution of floods and pesticides and chemical fertilizers do great harm to nymphs (cicadas) or cicadas, which should be paid attention to and protected when breeding. The most important seasons are the egg stage on the tree, the occurrence period of cicada ants, and the unearthed period of mature nymphs. The natural enemies of egg stage and cicada ant occurrence period are mainly ants and red floret wax. The treatment measures are to use 100-fold solution of strong ammonia to wash egg branches or to treat soil with VP and strong chlorine every day.
In fact, cicadas are relatively familiar with life, but there are many people who do not know much about cicadas, but only know that they are insects. In fact, cicadas have very high nutritional value and are rich in protein. Therefore, it is also a favorite dish for many people in life.
