Raising cattle with distiller's grains has always been a very common practice among cattle farmers. Cattle especially like to eat fermented products, while the fermented by-products of the distiller's grains brewing industry are full of flavor.

Feed cattle with distiller's grains, mixed with straw feed, beef cattle like to eat very much, after feeding in the rumen of beef cattle, it is easy to digest, dizzy, grow strong and fast, and the economic benefit of raising cattle is greatly increased. Now let's take a look at the feed formula for raising cattle with distiller's grains.

The advantages of raising cattle with Distiller's grains

Distiller's grains are all formed by high-temperature cooking after fermentation, so its crude fiber content is low, so it is doomed that distiller's grains as cattle feed has the characteristics of good palatability and easy digestion, but also can effectively prevent rumen dyspnea.

Distiller's grains is the direct leftover in the wine-making process, it not only contains a certain proportion of grain can save the concentrate for feeding cattle, but also contains rich crude protein, which is about 3 times higher than that of corn. At the same time, it also contains a variety of trace elements, vitamins, yeast, lysine, methionine and tryptophan, which can not be provided by crop straw.

Distiller's grains contains a certain amount of alcohol, and after feeding, the cow can lie down and regurgitate. Feed the cow distiller's grains for about 20 seconds and 30 days or so, and you will find that the fur of the cow is brighter and softer, and it is no longer picky to eat. The cattle fed with distiller's grains had good meat quality, fine fiber, bright color and toughness, and the net meat percentage was increased by about 4% and 7%. The income of each cow can be increased by 660 won 960 yuan.

Formula of feed for raising cattle with distiller's grains

Distiller's grains, the crude protein content can reach about 25%, it is a good choice to use it as feed for cattle or other animals. However, directly feeding cattle or other animals with distiller's grains not only the nutritional value is not fully utilized, but also the taste is poor. Therefore, it is better to feed cattle or other animals after fermentation with lactic acid bacteria starter, so that the feed is more nutritious and tastes better.

The following are the operation methods and matters needing attention of fermenting distiller's grains into pig feed for your reference:

1. Prepare materials. About 50% of distiller's grains, 30% of corn meal, 20% of wheat bran or rice bran, and 0.5-1 ‰ of lactic acid bacteria starter.

2. Dilution of bacteria. First, mix the feed starter with rice bran, cornmeal or wheat bran in the ratio of 1 to 10, dry dilution without water, and then set aside.

3. Mixed materials. Mix prepared distiller's grains, cornmeal, wheat bran and pre-diluted feed starter and be sure to stir well. If there are more fermented materials, the diluted feed starter can be mixed with some of the materials, and then sprinkled into the fermented materials, in order to make the material and starter mix more evenly.

4. Moisture requirement. The water content of the prepared material is controlled at about 65%. The method of judgment: hold a handful of material by hand and do not drip water between your fingers, and it is appropriate to fall to the ground without dripping water. More water is not easy to raise temperature, and less water is difficult to ferment; when adding water, pay attention to add less first, if there is not enough water, and then add it to the right place.

5. Sealing requirements. Fermentation materials can be packed into containers such as cylinders, cylinders, ponds, plastic bags, etc. During fermentation, the materials should be completely sealed, but the material should not be pressed too tightly; when using poorly sealed containers for fermentation, a layer of plastic film or bag should be added on the outside, and then fastened with a rubber band to ensure the seal.

6. Fermentation is complete. Sealed fermentation for about 3 days under natural temperature (preferably starting temperature above 15 ℃). When there is wine aroma, the fermentation is completed.

7. Points for attention. The finished product after fermentation should be sealed immediately after each feeding; the finished product can be kept sealed in small bags or dried and dehydrated, dried at low temperature, or granulated; musty lees can not be used.

Feeding method of raising cattle with distiller's grains

It is divided into three stages: before fattening, during fattening and after fattening.

The composition of diet before fattening cattle was as follows: distiller's grains 7kg, concentrate 3kg, grass powder 13kg.

The medium-term diet composition of fattening cattle was as follows: distiller's grains 10kg, concentrate 4-4.2kg, forage 20kg.

The dietary composition of fattening cattle in the later stage was as follows: distiller's grains 8kg, concentrate 3.5kg, forage 15kg.

Matters needing attention in raising cattle with distiller's grains

Distiller's grains is the residue of the brewing industry, it is not only rich in nutrition and energy, but also has the role of appetite. Attention should be paid to the following aspects when feeding distiller's grains:

1. Feeding lees to cattle may be a little uncomfortable at the beginning, but cows get used to it after 5 days of smooth feeding. When feeding distiller's grains, it should be increased gradually from less to more, and then fed according to the quantity after the cattle are used to eating.

2. Regular and quantitative feeding. Feeding twice a day in spring and winter, bad at 7:30 in the morning, drinking warm water at noon, and bad at 6pm. In autumn, it is bad at 7 o'clock in the morning, once with warm water at noon, and worse at 5:30 in the evening. In summer, it is bad at 4 o'clock in the morning and 6:30 in the evening. Drink clean cold water twice at noon. At the beginning of fattening, each head was fed with 4 kg of fresh distiller's grains per day, 6 kg in the middle stage and 5.5 kg in the later stage.

3. Add and mix frequently. When feeding, you should add less frequently and mix as you eat.

4. the amount of feeding should not be too large, too much distiller's grains for a long time can easily cause diseases such as excessive acid in the stomach of beef cattle, rumen swelling and so on. Adding the right amount of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to the distiller's grains can reduce the acidity.

Both brewer's grains and liquor lees can be fed to cattle, and beer lees are more palatable.

Prevention and control measures of cattle blight caused by distiller's grains

1. Vaccinate regularly to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases. In the spring and autumn, we should do a good job in vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease, bovine pasteurellosis and bovine emphysema in accordance with the immunization program.

2. Strictly implement the introduction regulations of the relevant departments, do not introduce species from other places at will, do not introduce species from epidemic areas, do a good job of isolation and observation, and then join the group after the expiration of the isolation period.

3. Do a good job of deworming regularly to avoid parasite infection.

4. Do a good job in regular disinfection of cattle farms and barns to kill the source of the disease.

5. if there is a disease and epidemic in the cattle, it is necessary to notify the animal disease prevention and control department immediately and take measures to eliminate the epidemic.

6. sick and dead cattle shall not be dissected in cattle farms and barns, and all sick and dead cattle shall be treated innocuously, such as deep burial or burning, and shall not litter the carcasses of sick and dead cattle at will.

The above introduces the feed collocation methods and matters needing attention of cattle raising with distiller's grains, hoping to be helpful to cattle farmers.

However, distiller's grains is not a nutritionally balanced diet with high protein content and low energy, which affects the increase of cattle fed for a long time. The content of phosphorus in distiller's grains is relatively high, but the content of calcium is low; the content of water-soluble vitamins is high and fat-soluble vitamins are low; there are lack and imbalance of trace elements and minerals, which should be supplemented by adding concentrate when making ingredients.

Therefore, we can not blindly use distiller's grains to raise cattle, but also need to supplement energy feed and other nutrients, concentrate feed and other feed. In this way, the cattle will be healthier and more balanced.
