Platypus fish is one of the fastest growing freshwater fish, platypus fish grow fast, strong ability to adapt to the environment, not only not afraid of low temperature, but also can endure high temperature. Let's learn how to raise duck-billed fish with Xiaobian.

The latest scientific duckbill fish culture technology

I. Culture location

The breeding site of duck-billed fish is selected in Chengqian Washan Reservoir. The water area of the aquaculture area is large, with a water depth of more than 6 meters, dissolved oxygen of 6 mg / L, pH value of 7 mg / L, total hardness of 20 mg / L, ammonia nitrogen of 0.02 mg / L, nitrite of 0.0015 mg / L and good water quality, which meet all the requirements of GB1160 Fisheries Water quality Standard and NY5051-2001 Water quality Standard for pollution-free fresh Water Culture.

II. Cage setting

The duck-billed fish cage is set up with reference silver carp cage, and the water area with rich planktonic biomass is selected, which requires smooth flow, shelter from the wind and sun, and the simple bamboo frame is used in the quiet cage frame. The box is made of polyethylene knotless mesh. The size of the cage is 5 meters × 5 meters × 2.5 meters, and the mesh size is 2.5 centimeters. Duck-billed fish are afraid of light, and the surface of the cage is covered with black film.

3. Seedling selection

Duck-billed fish fry choose high-quality seedlings with strong physique, lively swimming, neat specifications, disease-free and injury-free. The stocking density is 2040 tails per square meter. The specification is 10-15cm. According to the characteristics of duck-billed fish fry that are sensitive to the change of water temperature, the temperature difference should not be too large when the larvae are put into the box, and the temperature difference should not exceed ±2 ℃ and be consistent as far as possible. Disinfect the fish for 8 minutes with 1.5-2.0% salt water before entering the box.

4. Stocking density

When duck-billed fish are raised alone, there are 80 fish per mu when the body length is 50 centimeters and 60 centimeters and weight is 1 kilogram, and 40 fish per mu when the weight is 2 kilograms. When mixed culture, when the body length is 25 cm, it is 50-70 per mu and grows to 1 kg at the end of the year. When the body length is 50-60 cm, it is 20-50 per mu, and it grows to 2-3 kg at the end of the year. 7-8 per mu in the third year. Adult fish culture in ponds is not suitable for mixed culture in small areas or intensive high-yield ponds, because high yield, high density, ups and downs of dissolved oxygen and rotation are very disadvantageous to spoon Sturgeon.

5. Scientific bait

At the initial stage of stocking, platypus fish were mainly fed to zooplankton (such as red worms), then gradually domesticated and changed to floating pellet bait, supplemented by night light bait. The bait should be fresh and non-deteriorating, rich in nutrition and palatable in size, and the bait should follow the principle of "four determinations". When the water temperature is 20: 30 ℃, the daily feeding rate is 1.5: 3%. When the water temperature is below 20 ℃, the daily feeding rate is 0.5-1.0%, which is adjusted in time according to feeding situation, weather, water quality, etc. The baiting times were 07: 00:00, 11: 00:00 and 18: 00:00, respectively, three times a day.

VI. Daily management

Platypus fish grow very fast and should be cultivated in time to avoid polarization and help to improve the survival rate. Strictly implement the morning, middle and evening box patrol system to carefully observe the feeding and activities of Sturgeon, and remove the residual bait in time. Flush the cage regularly to prevent the mesh from clogging and affect the exchange of water inside and outside the box. Always pay attention to reinforce the cage in rainy days and stormy seasons. Also often check whether the cage is damaged, find the damage and repair it in time. Black shading nylon cloth and anti-theft net should also be installed on the top of the cage. Record the air temperature, water temperature, feeding amount and the number of morbidity and death every day. Find abnormal situation and take measures in time.

VII. Prevention and control of fish diseases

The prevention and control of platypus fish disease adheres to the principle of "giving priority to prevention and health management". 1% salt or 0.4 mg / L dibromohydantoin and other drugs are used after bathing and disinfecting the cage every 20 days or so with 15 mg / L quicklime and 0.3 mg / L dibromohydantoin. The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited in the waters around the cage.

Life habits of platypus fish

Duck-billed fish with strong adaptability, rapid growth, docile temperament and short food chain is the only fish that feeds on zooplankton among all Sturgeon. Its bait comes from a wide range of sources, and is easy to raise and catch, so it is suitable for aquaculture in reservoirs, lakes and ponds. Duck-billed fish is a kind of filter-feeding fish, which mainly feeds on zooplankton and cladocera, especially water fleas, and occasionally eats small aquatic insects such as Chironomus larvae. The spoon-nosed Sturgeon, which is less than 12 cm long, can nibble away at zooplankton one by one, as well as small fish and shrimps; when the fish is more than 12 cm long, its feeding organs are well developed and converted to filter feeding, which can catch fast swimming copepods.

As the spoon-nosed Sturgeon grows up, it also eats pellet feed. In the juvenile fish stage, because of its long kiss and peculiar shape, when eating commodity with pellet feed, the abdomen is upward, the action is unique, lovely, and has high ornamental value, so it can be raised as a kind of high-grade ornamental fish.

The history of duck-billed fish

Duck-billed fish scientific name: American spoon-nosed Sturgeon (also known as duck-billed Sturgeon) English name: Polyodonspathala spoon-nosed Sturgeon, scientific name "American spoon-nosed Sturgeon" originated in the Mississippi River Basin in the United States, is a large freshwater economic fish, belonging to the Sturgeon family Sturgeon. It is a rare Sturgeon that has lived on the earth since 300 million years ago (that is, the dinosaur period). It is one of only two species of Acipenser in the world. It belongs to the Sturgeon family Sturgeon of the order Sturgeon, together with the Chinese Sturgeon and the White Sturgeon in the Yangtze River.

Characteristics of duck-billed fish

Looking at its appearance, the fish beak is flat and similar to the duck beak, but it is several times longer than the duck beak. The body is more than 50 centimeters long, and the long and flat mouth has accounted for more than half. Smooth, dark gray fish body, no scales; taste, the meat is very delicate, delicious, and less thorn meat, almost a keel directly connected to the duck beak, the duck bill fish bone is transparent, and very fragile, can be crushed and eaten. The precious quality of duck-billed fish, coupled with the integration of the chef's Seiko cooking skills, whether boiled or braised or steamed, not only the fish taste tender, the fish bones are equally soft and crisp, but also sweet and juicy.

Platypus fish are fed by zooplankton and do not need to be fed separately if they are mixed. Platypus fish are mainly afraid of parasites and should be prevented.
