In recent years, calla lilies are very popular with consumers in the market, and it is a relatively common plant. Calla lilies have high ornamental value. The flowers are white with a slender yellow stamen in the middle. After many people buy calla lilies and go home, they are not very clear about how to raise them.

How to raise calla lilies

1. Its requirements for soil and fertilization. When potted, sandy loam with good drainage should be selected and sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. It is better to base fertilizer with fully rotten cake fertilizer and pig stable fertilizer. After planting, pour enough water, put in the shade, and keep the basin soil moist. After sprouting, move to the shade shed, where there is scattered light for maintenance, be careful not to direct sunlight, and not all shade. In addition to applying base fertilizer before planting, liquid fertilizer is applied every 20 days or so during the growing period. The mature cake fertilizer and water can be used for fertilizer, and the dilute liquid fertilizer mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can be applied every 10 days or so in the peak growing season. When fertilizing, do not pour fertilizer and water into the leaf sheath, so as not to cause rot.

2. Its requirements in watering. Calla lilies like to have plenty of water during their growth, so they should often sprinkle water on the leaves and the ground, and pay attention to the cleanliness of the leaves. Move to the greenhouse before frost and keep the room temperature above 10 ℃. In order to avoid the influence of leaves on daylighting during maintenance, the outer leaves can be removed, which is also conducive to pedicel protruding. February to April is the full flowering period, after flowering gradually stop watering, after May the plant began to wither and yellow, should pay attention to ventilation and keep dry, in order to prevent tuber rot. When the plant is completely dormant, the tubers can be taken out, dried and stored, and then planted in autumn.

Planting method of calla lotus

1. Planting: soak the bulb in gibberellin solution for 10 to 15 minutes, then take it out to dry. The basin should be deeper and the soil should be looser, so you can choose professional flower soil. Put the bulb into the bulb with a depth of 3 cm to 4 cm. The planting depth is 10 cm, more than 5 cm and 15 cm deep.

2. Fertilization: applying 20% rotten acquaintance feces or cake fertilizer and water every 15-20 days during the growing period can make the leaves green and luxuriant. After February, 20% rotten chicken manure and other liquid fertilizers with more phosphorus can be applied to promote the germination of flower buds. When applying fertilizer, it should be poured into the petiole to avoid yellow leaves or rot.

3. Watering: calla lilies like to be wet, and can be watered more often. Always keep the basin soil moist, do not make the basin soil dry. You can sprinkle water on the surrounding ground while watering to keep the air moist. Control watering in winter, spray and wash the leaves with wet water every 7-10 days to keep fresh green and fresh.

Matters needing attention in planting calla lilies

1. Calla lilies are afraid of smoking. In winter, be careful not to put flowerpots in the position of oil fumes near the kitchen, otherwise it is very easy to lose leaves.

2. Dwarf calla lilies have more ornamental value, which can be done only with a little treatment in maintenance. In summer, when calla lilies enter the dormant period to change pots, sprinkle paclobutrazol with a small amount of fine soil around the plant, 10-15 grams without pot, and then watering is done. In a week or so, your plant will become small and delicate.

3. Fertilizer and water should not be poured on the leaves during fertilization, and the external aged leaves should be removed in time when they grow too fast. In summer, don't worry about all the withered and yellow leaves, take out the tubers to dry, store them, and plant them in autumn.

Propagation of calla lilies

The main way of reproduction is to divide balls. After the plant enters the dormant period, peel off the small balls around the tuber and plant it separately. It can also be sown and propagated, and the seeds can be sown in pots as soon as the seeds are ripe. The suitable temperature for germination is about 20 ℃.

1. Ramet: when the old leaves withered gradually after flowering from May to June, and when new leaves grew or changed pots in the middle of September, the small tubers around the mother plant were peeled off and put on the pot by stages. It usually blossoms 3 months after planting.

2. Sowing: indoor pot sowing is the main method, and the optimum temperature for germination is 18-24 ℃. After 15-20 days of sowing, the seedlings need to be cultivated for 3-4 years before they can blossom.

When calla lilies are cultivated, the most important thing is to grasp their fertilizer and water skills. Too much or too little fertilization may cause calla lilies to grow. Calla lilies can also choose an appropriate way to propagate when they are planted. Generally, sowing and ramet propagation are the most common.
