Sheep is one of the common poultry in our life, many people like to eat mutton very much, not only because the mutton is very tender and delicious, but also has high nutritional value, the annual demand for mutton is very high, and sometimes there is a phenomenon that supply falls short of demand, so many people have begun to start their own businesses and raise sheep. There are many ways to raise sheep, and keeping sheep in captivity is also one of them, so how to build a sheephouse for captive sheep?

The construction method of sheep house for captive sheep

1. Ground

The ground is the place where sheep move, feed and excrete, with different building materials such as soil, brick, cement and wooden floor. The cost of soil and ground is low, but it is easy to rot in the presence of water, and sheep are easy to get hoof rot, which is only suitable for dry areas. Brick floor and cement floor are hard, which is disadvantageous to the development of sheep's hoof, but it is easy to clean and disinfect, so it is most widely used.

2. Sheep bed

The sheep bed is a place where sheep lie down and rest, requiring clean, cold, dry, no residual feces and easy cleaning. Wooden strips can be made with bamboo chips 3.2 cm wide and 3.6 cm thick, and the gap width should be slightly less than the sheep's hoof width, so as not to break the sheep's leg under the sheep's hoof. The size of the sheep bed can be determined according to the area of the enclosure and the number of sheep.

3. Wall

The wall plays an important role in the heat preservation and non-thermal insulation of the barn. Materials such as soil, brick and stone are generally used. The construction of livestock houses with these materials not only has a beautiful appearance and good performance, but also the cost is not much higher than that of brick and tile structures, which is the development direction of large-scale intensive sheep farm buildings in the future.

4. Roof and ceiling

The roof should have the functions of rain protection and thermal insulation. The rain shield can be made of ceramic tiles, asbestos tiles, metal plates and linoleum. Under the rainproof bureau, thermal insulation materials such as glazed wire, foam board and polyurethane are commonly used in .

5. Sports ground

The single-row shepherds should be arranged in the north and south, so the sports ground should be located in the south of the sheephouses, the double-row sheephouses should be arranged in the north-south direction, and the sports grounds should be located on the east and west sides of the sheephouses to facilitate the picking first. The ground of the playground should be lower than the floor of the sheep barn and should not be tilted outward, so as to facilitate drainage and keep dry.

6. Fence

There are fences in the sheep house and around the playground, its function is to separate sheep of different sizes, genders and types from each other, not limited to a certain range of activities, in order to improve production efficiency and facilitate scientific management. The height of the fence is 1.5 meters, and the material can be wooden fence, barbed wire, pipe and so on.

7. Food trough and sink

Design inside the sheep shed as much as possible to prevent Rain Water and Bingye. Trough can be built with cement, iron and other materials, the depth is generally 15 cm, should not be too deep, the bottom should be arc-shaped, the four corners should also be arc-shaped, in order to clean.

Successful experience of raising sheep in captivity

1. When raising sheep in captivity, you should first choose a breed that is suitable for captivity, because some breeds are not suitable for captivity, because some sheep are born to run wild.

2. Sheep that are not suitable for captivity will appear all kinds of symptoms after being kept in captivity for a period of time, and they are not willing to eat the forage you feed, waste fodder and so on.

3. After selecting the breed of sheep suitable for captivity, prepare the facilities for captivity, including some drinking water facilities, forage facilities, and some dung removal facilities, and so on.

4. After the equipment and facilities are ready, the forage can be prepared, which requires some technology, because if some medicine and feed are added to the forage, the sheep will grow faster and are not easy to get sick.

5. As for the production technology of fodder and the method of adding auxiliary materials, you can buy a book to learn. After all, there is no harm in learning.

6. After captivity, sheep dung must be cleaned regularly, because the sheep pen is relatively narrow after all, and sheep are easy to heat, so it is best to clean up sheep dung once a day.

7. When raising in captivity, it is best to separate the lamb from the big sheep when feeding fodder, because the variety of feed needed for the lamb is also different when it is growing up.

Three elements of sheep barn construction

1. The location of the sheep house. Sheep pens should be built in places with high terrain, sunny, dry and easy drainage if they want to have the function of preventing heat and cold. When the scale is small, it can be built in or near the residential courtyard to facilitate management and care; when the scale is large, it is best to stay away from villages, schools, etc. (in line with the provisions of the examination measures for animal epidemic prevention) to build a sheep-raising community, so as to facilitate unified epidemic prevention.

2. Determination of the specification of sheep house. The area of the sheephouse depends on the number of sheep raised, usually the area of each sheep is 1.5 square meters per breeder, 0.8 square meters per ewe, 1.5 square meters per pregnant or lactating ewe in winter, 1.0 square meters per lamb in spring and 0.5 square meters per young sheep. The height of the general sheep house is about 2.5 meters. When building a single-slope sheep house, the height of the back wall is about 1.8 meters, the width of the door is not less than 1.5 meters, the height of the window from the ground is not less than 1.5 meters, and the window area is generally 15 percent of the ground area. The floor of the sheep house should be 20-30 cm above the ground outside the shed and be paved with a gentle slope to facilitate drainage.

3. The construction of sports ground. There should be a playground in front of the enclosure, the area of which is 2 to 4 times the area of the sheep house, and a fixed sink or basin should be placed in the middle of the playground to drink water for sheep. Fixed feeding trough and mobile feeding trough should be placed around or in the middle, the fixed feeding trough is made of cement or brick, the trough should be wide and narrow, and the bottom of the trough is round, and the mobile feeding trough is made of wood.

The profit of raising sheep

1. Ewes: ewes make great profits from breeding. If a big ewe gives birth to six cubs a year, the net profit can reach about 1400 yuan to 1600 yuan.

2. Mutton sheep: mutton sheep is also called fattening sheep, and its profit is relatively low. The forage cost of keeping a sheep in captivity is about 1.5 yuan a day, and it takes about four months to raise a sheep, and the profit of a sheep is more than 200 yuan.

Through the above content, I believe that we all have a certain understanding of the construction and management methods of captive sheep. Captive sheep is one of the most common sheep raising techniques, but there are also good and bad, the good thing is that it can better and more convenient management of sheep, the bad thing is that the sheephouse investment cost is relatively high, late feed is also a large amount of money.
