How to raise olecranon turtles

1. Food: there is a simple way to measure the amount of food to be fed, that is, to feed a ball of food as big as an eagle's head, which usually only eats meat under 10CM's back armour, small fish, shrimp, bread worms, barley worms, pigs, cows and chickens, and larger olecranon can be fed to mice, such as green mice. Olecranons with turtle friends also eat vegetarian foods such as tomatoes. Basically, to feed any turtle, you have to follow the principle of diversity. There are two simple ways: one is to choose the most convenient food you can find there, usually feed fish, shrimp and earthworms as staple food, and then feed it when you encounter any other food. the second is the easiest way to say to your mother that you can cut chicken, duck lungs, lean meat, fish, shrimp, Loach, whatever you have.

2. Base material: it is ideal to have a cement pool, but glass vats are usually used at home. After raising the olecranon for a long time, we all know that the claws are not very long or even bent, which affects the appearance, so it is recommended to find a ceramic tile on the back side of the glass jar and let it grind the claws. Empty cylinders are also fine, sand or pebbles are not recommended, affecting cleanliness. Olecranon is good at climbing, and the amount of exercise is not small, so it must be prevented from escaping, pay attention to it will also climb along the drain pipe of the pump, the container is as high and slippery as possible, and pay attention to the cylinder not too high to prevent climbing out and falling to death.

4, the hardness and acidity and alkalinity of the water: the water quality that the olecranon likes is hard and alkaline, and the tap water is generally alkaline, but the water that has been basked in will be sour due to the decomposition of chlorine into hypochlorite and other reasons, and the sunken wood is also acidic, so it is best not to put sunken wood if the pool is very small. If possible, it is also good to add some coral sand to adjust the hardness and alkalinity. There is also a kind of Maifan stone, which is used to regulate the minerals in the water. I have tried it and think it contains more metal powder (maybe what I bought is a fake), so I can't use it too much.

What does the olecranon tortoise eat?

1. The eagle-billed turtle is a typical carnivorous turtle, which likes meat very much, so it is relatively simple in normal feeding, but the food is also fastidious and nutritional balance is needed.

2. For example, if you often feed a pig's head, it is easy to gain fat and get fat, so the turtle is also easy to get sick, and its shell needs calcium, so the nutrition must be balanced. You can usually feed shrimp, Loach, rice field eel, animal offal, fish meat, pork crabs.

What should be paid attention to in the mixed culture of olecranon?

1. Don't have too much difference in individual size. Put the big grass turtle and the little eagle together. It is certain that the baby eagle will be eaten as a snack.

2. Don't be too crowded.

3. Adequate food is guaranteed. However, the olecranon should still pay attention to the problem of mixed culture, because, first, the olecranon looks good in the tail, and the long tail is easy to be bitten by other turtles; second, the olecranon has high requirements for water quality, and too many turtles are easy to cause rapid deterioration of water quality, so if family turtles are raised, mixed culture of seedlings below 7CM is not a big problem, and sub-adults or above had better be separated.

Nutritional requirements of olecranon turtles during hibernation and breeding period

Before and during the mating period, olecranon turtles should be fed with feed rich in protein and easy to digest, as well as vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin D and so on, so as to improve the fertilization rate and reproduction of olecranon turtles. Every year after November, when the temperature is below 15 ℃, the olecranon turtles lie in the sediment at the bottom of the pond, do not eat or move, and go into hibernation. There is no need to feed or change water at this time, but pay attention to heat preservation and cover things such as straw around the pool. Usually (refers to spring, summer and autumn) should pay attention to change the water in the breeding pond, every 2 days in summer, every 5 days in spring and autumn, to keep the water quality clean and prevent turtles from getting sick.
