Due to the change of water color and water quality caused by too much or too little feed, only part of the water needs to be changed; if the water quality is very poor and the moss in the water is too long, affecting the growth and development of fish, it is necessary to change the water thoroughly. Part of the change of water only needs to make the water in the cylinder or pool turn spirally for a while, replace part of the old water, and then inject isothermal and equal amount of new water, and completely change the water in the tank or pool.

1. Partial change of water

It is mainly used for raising koi in family fish tank or breeding farm when it is used when feed is too much.

When koi is cultured in a fish tank, even if the water is often changed in summer and early autumn, the water color in the fish tank will soon become green because of the small amount of feed. If the water quality is not suitable and very bad, the koi in the fish tank can be fished up first, and then the water in the fish tank will rotate in a spiral shape until the water is still. Then use a plastic rubber tube to absorb the dirt and old water in the middle of the fish tank.

Then fill the tank with the same temperature and amount of fresh water, and then put in the koi. If too much feed is fed on that day, resulting in floating heads of fish, this method can also be used to partially change the water.

If it is a pond culture, there is no need to fish out the koi, just use a folding net to surround the koi to one side, then gently rotate the pond water for dozens of seconds, and then open the sluice gate immediately after the water is still, slowly release the water, or use a fishing net to fish out the dead fish and insects in the pond, and then release the old water, then pour the same temperature and amount of new water into the pond.

Second, thoroughly change the water

Complete water change is generally carried out at the same time as turning over and selecting young or adult fish, which is often used in situations such as serious water quality damage, too long moss in the pond, too dense fish density, and so on.

1. If there is no free pond, you can first put an oxygen-increasing head in the basin or cage, then fish all the koi into the basin or put the cage into the water of the adjacent pool for temporary cultivation, and then wash the moss on the wall of the cylinder. after that, inject new water with the right temperature into the tank, rest for a while, and then fish the fish into the fish tank after the water temperature is equal.

2. If there are still free ponds and fresh water, fish the koi into the basin or cage and sort them according to the specifications. Those who divide the cylinders will be put into the tank for breeding, and the carps will be left for a while until the water temperature is the same, and then move the koi to the new water. Pay attention to the water temperature when changing water. It is best to do it around 9 o'clock in the morning when the weather is clear, but this method can only be used for adults or larvae. Larvae cannot use this method.

If conditions permit, before thoroughly changing the water, the spare fish tank can be filled with volt water, and then the koi can be fished into the spare fish tank, because the difference in water temperature is small, it is easier for the fish to adapt, and the fish can be avoided from being squeezed in the basin or cage.

This water exchange method is generally carried out every 15 days or so in spring and autumn, and in hot summer, when the water temperature in the pool is as high as 28 ℃ or more, the water color becomes thicker and the water quality is easy to become turbid, and the water quality is usually changed thoroughly once in 5 days; when the water temperature is about 4 ℃ in winter, due to the little food intake and activities of koi, the water quality is easy to maintain, and generally there is no special case without a thorough change of water.
