How long can catfish be kept?

There are many kinds of catfish, some of which are about the same size for how long they are raised. Species in most parts of China can generally be sold only for more than one jin. The breeding cycle of catfish is about 90 days, and catfish on the market can produce two seasons a year. In Southeast Asia, the average life span of catfish is about 30 years, and there is a giant catfish that can be raised for up to more than 30 years.

The feeding method of catfish

1. Fish fry restocking

When stocking fish fry, try to choose sunny or breezy weather. Before entering the pond, fish fry should be put into cages and temporarily raised in bundles. The fish fry are packed in nylon bags and placed on the surface of the fish pond. when the water temperature in the bag is the same as the water temperature of the pond water, the fish fry can be cultured in a cage at this time. Generally, about 30 to 50,000 catfish can be raised in the pond per mu.

2. Water flea feeding

Using water fleas to feed fish fry, generally temporarily raise the fry for about 3 hours, put the fry into the culture pond, before releasing the fry, in the shallow water around the pond, use water plants, grass curtains and other shaded places to facilitate the fry to perch under the shelter after it is put in, so that the fry can grow well.

3. Feeding and management

A few days before the fry is released, some zooplankton can be cultivated in the pond without feeding. When there are not many zooplankton in the pond, water fleas can be salvaged from other ponds for feeding. After the fourth day, earthworms and surimi can be fed in the whole pond, and reasonable feeding can be carried out according to the feeding condition of the fry.

4. Fish fry out of the pond

When the fry has been cultivated for about 10 days, the length of the fry can reach about 5cm, then the fry can be raised in separate ponds, and the breeders need to enter the next feeding stage to ensure that the fry can grow rapidly.
