Build a breeding environment: build a living environment with large specifications and good ventilation facilities. Ensure the required temperature: the temperature should be kept above 35 ℃. Give enough light: install ultraviolet light in the living environment. Feed: small wax lizards are fed crickets, insects, earthworms, mice and other food. medium to large wax lizards are fed with liver, mice, meat, chickens and ducks, and can be fed with fresh vegetables and fruits.

First, set up a breeding environment

1. Wax-skinned lizards are relatively large in size, so to raise wax-skinned lizards at home, we should first build a living environment with large specifications and good ventilation facilities.

2. The cage for raising wax-skinned lizards should be relatively sturdy. Generally, the length of the cage is 2.5 times longer than that of wax-skinned lizards. The environment in the cage needs ventilation and ventilation will not be too muggy. If conditions permit, you can prepare a separate and spacious room to raise wax-skinned lizards.

2. Ensure the required temperature

1. Most of the natural wax-skinned lizards live in the tropics, and the ambient temperature is above 38 ℃ for at least 10 hours a day, so the household-raised wax-skinned lizards should be properly warmed to ensure that the ambient temperature is above 35 ℃ as far as possible.

2. Usually, several incandescent lamps can be installed in the environment where the wax lizard lives, which can increase the temperature while lighting.

Third, give sufficient light

1. Because wax-skinned lizards are cold-blooded animals, they need light to increase their body temperature, so as to promote their activities more quickly. in general, ultraviolet rays in the sun are more important for wax-skinned lizards. Wax-skinned lizards can be exposed to ultraviolet rays. Vitamin D3 is then synthesized in the skin, and vitamin D3 promotes the absorption of calcium.

2. If the family can not give enough light to the wax-skinned lizard, then it is necessary to install a few ultraviolet lights in the environment where the wax-skinned lizard lives, which is helpful to meet the ultraviolet demand of the wax-skinned lizard.

Fourth, feed the food

1. Wax lizards' favorite foods are mainly small animals and vegetables. if families raise small wax lizards, they can feed crickets, insects, earthworms, mice and other food.

2. Medium to large wax-skinned lizards need to be fed with liver, white rats, meat, chickens and ducks, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits, which helps to ensure that the food of wax-skinned lizards has comprehensive and high-quality nutrition.

5. Morphological characteristics

The main results are as follows: 1. The wax-skinned lizard has a large body, the length of the head is about 150mm, the tail is about 2 times the length of the head, the back is flattened, there are no iguana scales, the back of the trunk and limbs is grayish brown, the back of the wax-skinned lizard is grayish brown, there are orange round spots on it, and there are black and orange patterns on the ventral side.

2. The male is densely covered with bright orange, or orange eye spots with black circles, while the female is not so obvious, with irregular horizontal lines on the side of the body.

3. The male ventral surface is milky yellow, the female ventral surface is grayish white, the limbs are strong, the claws are well developed, the tail is cylindrical, the base is broad and flat, and the end is like a whip, generally there are 13-18 femoral holes on each side.
