Culture conditions: it is suitable to be raised with natural water. If tap water is used, tap water should be exposed to the sun for 2-3 days. Control light source: a small light bulb of 5 watts can be used to give the light source at night. Water quality control: control the water depth at 3-5cm, with a water flow of 5-10 liters per second. Feed: raw materials such as sawing, rice bran, silt and pigeon dung can be used to make feed after fermentation.

I. Culture conditions

1. Red insects like to live in micro-flow fertile water, so in artificial breeding, the water quality should achieve this condition. At the end of spring and the beginning of autumn every year, the red insects will float on the surface of the water, causing the water to show reddish brown. It is usually collected in a container.

2. If it is a small number of breeding red insects, you can fish out the bottom mud and the red insects together and put them in glassware, which is generally suitable for raising with natural water. if you want to raise them with tap water, you need to put the tap water in the sun for 2-3 days.

3. Generally, the water should be changed once a day when raising, and cold protection measures should be taken at low temperature. During this period, red moist towels can be used to cover the container to maintain moisture, and it is appropriate to choose large-caliber containers, so that red worms will surface to breathe. If the opening of the container is relatively small, it will cause death.

Second, control the light source

The light source of breeding red worms is very critical, because the red worms cannot be separated from the light, so the lights must not be turned off at night. If there is no light source at night, the red worms will be prone to death because they are too lazy to breathe. During the period, a 5-watt light bulb can be used to give the light source.

III. Water quality control

1. When breeding red insects, the water depth should be controlled at 3-5cm, the water level in the daytime in spring can be slightly shallow, and the water temperature needs to be increased, and the water level can be properly deepened at night to play the role of heat preservation and cold protection.

2. Red insects like the environment of micro-running water, if the current is too large, it will easily take away the nutrients and eggs on the culture medium, and it will also consume a lot of physical strength, so it is not conducive to increase production, while the flow is too small, and it is not conducive to the discharge of water and excreta. The water quality is easy to deteriorate, resulting in the death of the red worm.

3. According to the practical production, it is known that the water flow rate of 5-10 liters per second is a more suitable flow environment. In addition, red insects are sensitive to pesticides and harmful substances, and the water sprayed with pesticides and industrial wastewater should not be used during the period.

Fourth, put in bait

1. Red insects generally feed on organic debris in the soil, especially sweet and acidic bait, and poultry droppings and domestic sewage are all bait for red worms. In professional breeding places, feed is generally made from sawed wood, rice bran, silt, pigeon dung and other raw materials after fermentation.

2. If it is a family culture, it can be fed with yeast powder in water, and a small amount of it should be fed many times during this period, which is beneficial to increase the yield. generally, it is fed every 3-4 days, and the manure is 50-100kg per mu, and it can be sprinkled in the whole pond after mixing with water.

3. When feeding, we need to pay attention to the number of residual bait, do not throw more blindly during the period, so as to avoid causing too much organic matter in the water body, resulting in fermentation to produce toxic substances, affecting the yield of red insects.
