Is mink an animal protected by the state?

Marten is a key protected animal, a few rare species, such as sable is a national first-class protected animal. Slaughtering, private breeding and hunting are strictly prohibited. The existence of mink lies in its uniqueness, not for others. We can appreciate it, but we can't want to have it, including its fur.

Can minks be farmed?

The so-called "breeding mink" and "mink" actually do not belong to minks and have nothing to do with marten in biology, so they can be farmed. Minks have well-developed anal bags. Anal pouch glands produce peculiar odorous secretions, minks have no cecum and the small intestine is short (four times the length of the body), and the stomach is rare. The above characteristics determine that minks need a small amount of multiple meals, the average daily food intake is 40,53g, the feeding interval is 3 hours, and the life span of artificially reared minks is no more than 4 years and 5 years. There are several subspecies of wild mink, their skin and eyes are different in color, most of them are light brown hands and dark brown, and most of the artificial breeders are dark brown.

3. Selection of mink

Breeding marten requires bright fur, consistent color of back and abdomen, short needle hair, flush hair, high density, uniform distribution, soft hair, good elasticity, slightly longer needle hair than fluff, and sable without white needle hair and white spot. This kind of mink fur is of good quality.

Minks are protected animals and cannot be raised and slaughtered at will. So it needs to be treated with caution when breeding.
