Cyclamen is a perennial herb of Primulaceae and Cyclamen genus. It originated in Greece, Syria, Lebanon and other places. Now it is cultivated all over the world. Cyclamen likes warmth. It grows best in cool environment and fertile sandy loam rich in humus. It can withstand low temperature of 0℃ without freezing.

Autumn to spring of the second year is its growing season, summer is semi-dormant, winter suitable growth temperature is between 12~16℃, promotion flowering should not exceed 18~22℃, plants above 0℃ will enter dormancy, plants above 35℃ are easy to rot and die, winter can tolerate low temperature, but below 5℃ will grow slowly. Supplementing carbon dioxide gas in winter can promote growth and flowering. During the growing season, moist air and sufficient sunshine are required.

Second, cyclamen breeding methods and precautions in summer

1, watering: cyclamen wet, but also afraid of water, generally keep the soil moist, do not need too much watering;

2, soil: need to choose fertile, loose soil, neutral soil breeding;

3, light: cyclamen love light, need to be placed in a place with sufficient scattered light breeding while avoiding direct sunlight;

4, temperature: cyclamen suitable growth temperature of 10-20℃, late to pay more attention to pest control.

Cyclamen to July will enter the dormancy period, dormancy period indoor must be well ventilated, maintain a cool environment, the highest temperature should not exceed 30℃, and less watering, especially to avoid rain.

The main diseases and insect pests of cyclamen are virus disease, root knot nematode disease, gray mold, cotton aphid, peach aphid, etc.

Virus diseases can be prevented by sterilizing seeds and soil in the early stages of planting;

Root-knot nematode disease can be treated with granules such as kexianphos, dichloroisopropyl ether and proxianphos (Yishoubao).

Grey mildew can be used thiram, dixon, etc. for soil disinfection or replacement with new soil, so as to avoid the spread of soil bacteria disease;

Cotton aphids and peach aphids can be controlled by spraying 0% aphid-repellent WP 2000 times solution and 10% imidacloprid 1500 times solution alternately.
