Hanshou is a major vegetable growing county in the country. in 2015, the county party committee and county government made great efforts to develop facility vegetables as a breakthrough to develop efficient vegetable industry and improve the income of vegetable farmers. the "three adjustments" efficient development strategy of vegetable industry of adjusting varieties, facilities and technology was determined. Take government guidance, cooperatives as the main body, science and technology as the support and other measures, starting with the implementation of factory seedlings, mechanized transplanting, large facilities vegetable industry. In order to optimize vegetable varieties, the county has built more than 300 mu of modern seedling bases for new vegetable varieties such as Hanmei, Siya Garden, Zhangjiazhai and other vegetable varieties, and introduced high-quality yellow cabbage, pine cauliflower, wrinkled pepper and other new varieties at different maturity stages. Experiments and demonstration planting have been carried out successfully, and 10 trademarks such as "Longyang Huacheng", "Weidi Lake", "Siya Garden" and "Wenli vegetables" have been registered. Speed up the pace of variety optimization. In 2015, in the vegetable area of the county, the popularization rate of high-quality varieties reached more than 40%, with an average income increase of about 500 yuan per mu.

The county also adopts awards instead of subsidies to mobilize the enthusiasm of large vegetable industry owners to provide vegetables with large facilities and intensive seedlings. Over the past year, Hanmei, Green, Chengmeng and other enterprises (cooperatives) have built more than 1000 mu of steel plastic shed, with sprinkler irrigation equipment, temperature control equipment, drip-free film, sunshade net and so on. At the same time, the county has set up an experimental and demonstration base for green prevention and control of vegetable diseases and insect pests by taking 3000 mu of steel greenhouse as the base and cooperating with the provincial plant protection institute, vigorously promoting the efficient cultivation technology of "early spring, sunshade in summer, and postponement of autumn". The annual output value of vegetables in the greenhouse reaches more than 20, 000 yuan per mu. Use Weidi Lake 50,000 mu continuous vegetable base and Siya Garden facility vegetable base to carry out the application of Internet of things technology, and strive to build a demonstration county for the application of agricultural information technology in the south. At the same time, Siya Garden, Hanmei and Chengmeng vegetable Cooperatives take the lead to promote the simplification and mechanization of vegetable production, raising 100 million seedlings a year and mechanical transplanting area of more than 5000 mu, which has become a typical example of new technology promotion in the province.

According to reports, in 2015, the sown area of vegetables in the county reached more than 400,000 mu, the output was more than 1.1 million tons, and the output value was 1.6 billion yuan, an increase of more than 10 percent respectively over the previous year. Relying on Huacheng, Yuangui, Hunan Province and Lixing Agricultural Co., Ltd., it exports 20,000 tons of vegetables.
