Zhou Binquan, president of the mustard industry association in Fuling District, revealed that around 2006, some mustard enterprises in our city began to reduce the amount of deep processing, taking advantage of the market vacancy of the lack of seasonal vegetables in winter in the north, and directly shipped the head of green vegetables to the northern market. It is deeply welcomed by the northern citizens and can be sold as high as 12 yuan per kilogram, and the profit margin is even higher than that of deep processing.

It is reported that since 2008, the Fuling district government began to organize mustard mustard enterprises and green cabbage producing villages and towns to go to the northern cities for marketing. Up to now, eight promotion meetings have been held in Xi'an, Shenyang, Jinan, Tianjin and other cities, and green vegetables have been sold to more than 50 large and medium-sized cities in the north. Chongqing has thus become one of the bases for transporting vegetables from the south to the north in China.

Fresh sales in the northern market have not only made up for the vacancy left by the slowdown in the deep processing of green vegetables in our city, but also brought new increments. Huang Hua, deputy director of Fuling District, revealed that at present, the annual sales volume of Fuling green vegetable head in the northern market has reached 500000 tons, accounting for 1/3 of the total output of Fuling. At present, the planting area of green vegetable head in this area has nearly doubled, to a large extent, due to the development of the northern market.

Cao Yonggang, director of the mustard Office in Fuling District, said that in recent years, our city has cultivated a number of new varieties of green vegetables, which have improved the quality and per unit yield. at the same time, the traditional single-season planting has been extended to three seasons, from mid-December of each year to March of the following year.
