Burdock planting technique
Burdock is also known as evil fruit, Dali fruit, Oriental ginseng and so on. It has been eaten as a vegetable for many years in Taiwan and is known as the birthplace of burdock. Today, I will introduce you to burdock planting technology.
1. Land selection and preparation
Burdock is suitable for growing in deep, well-drained fertile soil. The previous crop is best rape, broad bean, etc., soil preparation and application of farm manure, calcium superphosphate and appropriate compound fertilizer before planting, and then rake fine leveling.
II. Seed treatment
Select seeds with full particles and no pests, soak them in warm water for one day, pick them up and place them in warm places until the seeds are white.
III. Sowing
Dig holes according to plant spacing of 30×60cm, generally sow about 5 seeds per hole, cover soil slightly after sowing, and keep moisture in the cover soil.
IV. Field management
After the seeds emerge, the cover grass should be removed on cloudy days or in the evening, but when the seedlings grow to 2-3 leaves, they should be thinned in time, leaving one plant in each hole. Intertillage and weeding should be carried out when thinning seedlings. Burdock grows slowly. Too many weeds will affect growth and even lead to death. Therefore, intertillage and weeding are extremely important. Intertillage and weeding should be carried out 4-5 times during the whole growth period.
5. Fertilizer and water management
In April of the second year after sowing, farm manure and diammonium phosphate should be applied, scattered on the ground, and turned into the soil in combination with intertillage. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer can be sprayed at flowering stage to promote flowering. Water in time during drought and drain in time during rainy season to avoid excessive accumulation of water leading to rotten roots.
Burdock is mainly distributed in China, Western Europe, Kashmir, Europe and other places. The main producing areas of Chinese burdock are distributed in Jiangsu Province and Shandong Province. Feng County County and Pei County County of Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province and Cangshan Mountain in Shandong Province have a long planting history and a large area.
