Okra is an ideal high-grade green nutrition and health vegetable in the new century, which can strengthen stomach and intestines and nourish yin and yang. Okra can also be planted in greenhouse, so what is the planting method of okra in greenhouse?

1. Land preparation

Okra does not choose soil fertility, but the soil in the greenhouse should be loam or sandy loam with deep, loose and fertile soil and good drainage. It should be noted that okra can not be cropped continuously, nor can it be mixed with fruits and vegetables, but root vegetables and leaf vegetables can be chosen as the previous stubble. After the previous harvest, the soil should be ploughed deeply in time and enough base fertilizer should be applied.

2. Sowing seeds

Okra is generally planted in the way of seed sowing, because it is planted in the greenhouse, as long as the temperature is right, it can be sown all the year round. Soak the seeds for 12 hours before sowing, then put them in the environment of 25-30 ℃ for 24 hours, and wait for the seeds to be "broken" before sowing. Sow the seeds on the seedling bed, water them first, then sow them with a row spacing of 10 cm and cover soil with 2 cm after sowing. The temperature is kept at about 25 degrees after sowing, which can germinate in about 4-5 days, and can be planted when the seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves.

3. Light and temperature

Okra is particularly sensitive to light, requiring sufficient light when planting and for a long time. Okra likes warm environment, and the suitable temperature for growth period is between 25-30 ℃. When the temperature is between 26-28 ℃, not only flowering is more, fruit setting rate is high, but also fruit development is fast.

4. Water and fertilizer

Okra is resistant to drought and moisture, but not resistant to waterlogging. It requires higher air and soil moisture during the growth period. It is not short of water, but it can not be watered too much. It is necessary to apply proper topdressing, but not partial application of nitrogen fertilizer, especially after seedling emergence, planting, flowering and fruiting period.

5. Pick the heart

Under normal conditions, okra plants grow vigorously, but it is not conducive to blossom and bear fruit, so it is necessary to pick the heart properly. In the early stage, twisting branches can be used to control vegetative growth. In the middle and later stages of growth, the old leaves should be removed in time to reduce nutrient consumption. Picking the heart in time when picking fruit can increase the yield.
