Grass contains many varieties, such as Kentucky bluegrass, Sijiqing, cold season type and so on. Each grass contains a lot of varieties. Most of the grass is used for greening, so what are the planting techniques?

First, the types of grass

There are many varieties of grass, which can be divided into cold season type and warm season type according to their geographical distribution and adaptability to temperature conditions. Different types of grass are planted in different ways.

1. Warm-season type: the optimum growth temperature of warm-season grass is 25 ℃-35 ℃, mostly originated in tropical and subtropical regions, widely distributed in warm and humid, warm and semi-humid and warm semi-arid climate zones, its growth is mainly limited by extreme low temperature and its duration, its main characteristics are strong heat resistance, good disease resistance, resistance to rough management, short green period of most species, light green color and so on.

two。 The optimum growth temperature of cold-season turfgrass is 15 ℃-25 ℃. Most of these turfgrasses are native to the forest fringes of northern Europe and Asia, and are widely distributed in cool, semi-warm, cool and semi-arid and transitional zones. Its growth is mainly restricted by the stress of high temperature, the duration of extreme temperature and arid environment. Its main characteristics are long green period, thick green color, fine management and so on.

II. Planting

Lawn establishment should be in accordance with local conditions and times, and the specific conditions should be analyzed in detail. According to the relevant conditions of planting land, planting time, required turf formation time and the growth habits of turfgrass varieties, appropriate planting methods should be selected. There are mainly two categories: seed sowing and vegetative propagation.

1. Seed propagation: the sowing amount is determined by the size and germination rate of seeds, generally according to 10-15 kg / mu of large seeds, 8-10 kg / mu of medium seeds and 6-8 kg / mu of small seeds. Seed propagation is mainly by sowing. In order to ensure the uniform distribution of seeds, the nursery can be divided into zones, and the seeds can be mixed with fine sand 1-2 times, sowing one by one. The seed propagation method has the advantages of low cost and low labor consumption, but it also has some disadvantages such as long time for turf formation.

2. Vegetative reproduction: the common methods are stem sowing, separate planting, laying and so on. For example, the sub-planting method is to dig up the lawn plants of the original lawn, separate the plants one by one and plant them according to the appropriate row spacing; the paving method is to dig up the lawn plants that have been formed to cover the ground, divide them into blocks or strips of a certain size, and then plant them at a certain distance. Although the establishment speed of vegetative reproduction is fast, the cost is relatively high. In practical application, it should be selected according to the characteristics of grass species, site, labor and other conditions.

III. Maintenance

1. Fertilization: attention should be paid to the following when applying chemical fertilizer: the proportion of nitrogen, ∶, phosphorus, ∶ and potassium should be controlled at 5 ∶ 4 ∶ 3. The application rate is light and thin in the prosperous period, and it should be strengthened in the slow long period than in the prosperous period, which can increase the extra-root fertilization. Fertilization and watering should be closely coordinated to prevent damage to the lawn caused by improper use. The use of organic fertilizer can not only improve soil nutrition, but also improve soil porosity and permeability, and even contribute to lawn safe overwintering.

2. To ensure the water supply of turfgrass: when the lawn has different degrees of wilting, the change of color from turquoise to grayish green indicates the need for irrigation. The irrigation time should be determined according to the growth of the lawn and the weather conditions. Generally speaking, watering in the morning or evening will result in small evaporation loss, which is beneficial to the growth of turfgrass. But dry and wet alternately, waterlogging is strictly prohibited, otherwise it is easy to rot the root.

3. Weeding: the newly planted lawn should strictly remove weed seeds and grass roots, and constantly remove weeds.

4. Pruning: pruning is one of the most important management measures. Mowing can not only make the lawn look more beautiful, but more importantly, it can promote grass tillering, increase the density, flatness and elasticity of the lawn, enhance the wear resistance of the lawn, and prolong the service life of the lawn. Timely pruning can also inhibit lawn weeds from blooming and seeding. When the grass is 8-10 cm high, a lawnmower can be used to cut the grass. The amount of each pruning varies with different grass species, and in principle, the amount of each pruning should not exceed 1 big 3 of the grass length. In the hot and dry weather in summer, the damage degree of pruning will be greater than the effect of promoting growth, so the number of pruning in summer should be reduced appropriately.

Grass planting is relatively simple, vitality is also very tenacious, can be relatively large-scale planting.
