Passion fruit is a kind of tropical fruit, which is sour and sweet enough to be eaten directly or as a vegetable or made into a beverage. It is more popular in the market and has high economic value. So what are the growing conditions of passion fruit?

1. Soil

Passion fruit should choose to build orchards in the land with soft soil, thick soil layer, convenient drainage and irrigation, no pollution and shelter from the wind and sun. the adaptability of eggs and fruit is strong, and the requirement of soil is not high. However, the soil layer produced in a large area is at least 0.5 meters, and the soil is fertile, loose and well drained, and the soil pH value is 5.5-6.5.

Second, temperature

The most suitable growth temperature of passion fruit is 20 ℃-30 ℃. Generally, it grows well at the temperature of no less than 0 ℃, and the plant will be seriously damaged or even die when it reaches-2 ℃. The area with annual average temperature above 18 ℃ is the most suitable for planting and easy to get high yield. Therefore, it is widely distributed in the warm and humid areas of southern China, especially in Hainan.

Third, moisture

The passion fruit grows best when the annual rainfall is between 1500 and 2000 mm and is evenly distributed, while the commercial planting area should not be less than 1 000 mm. Passion fruit is more tolerant to drought, but it still needs irrigation in case of drought. If the soil is too dry, it will affect the development of vines and fruits, and in serious cases, the branches will wither, the fruits will not develop and the fruit will drop. Pay attention to drainage during the rainy season.

Fourth, lighting

As a tropical fruit, passion fruit likes plenty of sunlight to promote vine growth and nutrient accumulation. Long-day conditions are beneficial to the flowering of passion fruit. In the area with annual sunshine hours of 2300-2800 hours, passion fruit has good vegetative growth, more nutrient accumulation, fast branch growth, early fruiting and high yield. The most suitable growth temperature is 20 ℃-30 ℃. Generally, the plant grows well at the temperature of no less than 0 ℃, and the plant will be seriously damaged or even die at-2 ℃.

Passion fruit cultivation needs careful care and management, to do a good job in the construction, watering, fertilization, pollination and other management work, in order to have a higher yield.
