Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Bupleurum chinense is a perennial herb of the genus Bupleurum in Umbelliferae. Its roots are dark brown and can be used as medicine to treat colds and fever. Today, I would like to introduce the planting technology of black Bupleurum. First, choose sandy soil for land selection and preparation, not clay and easy soil.

Bupleurum chinense is a perennial herb of the genus Bupleurum in Umbelliferae. Its roots are dark brown and can be used as medicine to treat colds and fever. Today, I would like to introduce the planting technology of black Bupleurum.

I. selection of land and land preparation

Choose sandy soil, not clay and low-lying land that is prone to stagnant water. Before planting, base fertilizer should be applied in combination with soil preparation, which is mainly organic fertilizer, mixed with appropriate amount of phosphate fertilizer or compound fertilizer, sprinkled evenly, and then ploughed evenly and evenly mixed with the soil. To make a border or ridge, the height of the border is 15-30 cm and the width is 1-1.3 m.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

The sowing time is after thawing in winter or in spring. When sowing, pour enough water on the border surface, open a shallow ditch according to the row spacing of 15-18 cm, spread the seeds evenly into the ditch, and cover a layer of fine soil. Seedlings can emerge within two weeks of sowing.

3. Transplanting

When the seedlings grow to 7 cm, they can be transplanted to the field, pay attention to the row spacing when transplanting, the best row spacing is 15-20 cm, and the plant spacing is between 7-10 cm. The seedlings should be watered once when transplanting, and enough water should be poured after transplanting to help slow the seedlings and improve the survival rate of transplanting.

IV. Field management

When transplanting survived, weeding should be started, and intermediate ploughing after weeding can loosen the soil, increase soil permeability and promote root growth and development. When the seedlings grow to 15-18 cm, you can top fertilizer once, mainly apply nitrogen fertilizer or urea, be sure to weed before fertilization, but do not damage the seedlings.

Black Bupleurum is distributed in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Qinghai, Gansu and Inner Mongolia provinces. Born in grasslands, valleys and shady hilltops at 1400-3400 meters above sea level.
