Green onion emerges as a new force, "forward onion" (picture)
At present, the prices of all kinds of winter vegetables are relatively stable, only this green onion has emerged as a new force, killing a way of singing and soaring forward.
The weather is getting colder, and this green onion is one of the indispensable side dishes on the table in winter. in most parts of the north, people still keep the custom of hoarding and buying 4 or 50 jin of green onions for the winter. What is the impact of the rise in the price of green onions on market volatility? Can growers have a warm winter to make money?
At present, a large number of spring onions from the main producing areas of Henan, Shandong and Hebei are on the market. In the past few days, green onions in the producing areas are being harvested. Due to the high price, many farmers are reluctant to sell them.
According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, in more than 60% of the 110 wholesale markets across the country, the price of green onions rose in November, with an average increase of 15%. In December, the average price of green onions in the national wholesale market remained above 1.8 yuan per catty, up about 19% from November. The quality of green onions in different producing areas is different, and the price fluctuates slightly, but the whole is in the rising channel. Zhang Yuejiao, a market analyst with one mu of land, brought a set of data.
At present, the price of origin is also relatively high, and at present, the price of green onions in Henan is higher than that in Shandong. Now the boarding price of iron green onions in Xinye, Henan is 0.9-1.05 yuan per jin, and the price is relatively high. Iron green onions and Changbai green onions are mainly planted in Shandong area, and the price is generally 0.6-0.8 yuan / progress. Shanxi Wanrong Changbai scallions is currently about 0.85-0.95 yuan / jin, now the price of green onions is relatively high, the market is also very fast.
This rise in the price of green onions has undoubtedly brought a positive boost to green onion growers. As we all know, in February and March this year, serious unsalable incidents of green onions occurred in many places in our country. The price of green onions in many producing areas has gone all the way down from 0.6 yuan / kg to less than 0.2 yuan / kg. Because it costs money to hire people to dig up green onions and cannot sell them even if they are dug up, some growers even use herbicides to clean up the green onions in the field. Zhang Yuejiao, an analyst with one mu of land, said that one of the important reasons for the high price of green onions at this stage is that growers in the producing area suffered heavy losses in the downturn at the beginning of the year, resulting in a reduction in acreage and a lack of supply in this season.
This round of unsalable has had a very great impact on the breeding of spring onions in summer and autumn. Summer green onions are raised in spring, which coincides with the low market price at that time. Many onion farmers have planted and pulled up their seedlings, while they have reduced planting in a large area in autumn. Tengzhou, Anqiu and other main producing areas in Shandong have reduced planting, while Xinye in Henan, Pingdu in Shandong and Dongchangfu in Shandong have basically reduced the area of planting. Other producing areas in Shanxi, Hebei and Henan have almost halved, so the soaring price of green onions this season is almost caused by reduced planting and supply shortages.
Thus it can be seen that the rise and fall of the prices of agricultural products are mostly determined by the output of the place of origin, and the fuse is that farmers often use the prices of the current season to guide the planting of the current season, which always lags behind the changes of the market. Some growers report that it is difficult to know the income before growing vegetables, such as gambling. In the past few days, the market of various producing areas has gone up, and farmers are slightly reluctant to sell, and many producing areas are not good enough to hire workers, so it is not easy to receive goods.
With the cold weather, the demand side is gradually increasing, but as the reduction of the planting area of green onions this season has become a foregone conclusion, Liu Shuai, an analyst at Zhuochuang Information Market, said that the price of green onions may rise further before the end of the year.
