3. Temperature
Onion seeds and bulbs germinated slowly at 3 ℃ and began to accelerate at 12 ℃. The optimum temperature for seedling growth was 12 ℃, 18 ℃ for leaves and 20 ℃ for bulbs. Healthy seedlings could tolerate the low temperature of ~ 6 ℃. Bulb expansion needs higher temperature, bulb can not expand below 15 ℃, 21-27 ℃ growth is the best. If the temperature is too high, it will grow and decline and go into dormancy.
4. Soil
Onion is suitable in neutral loam with loose fertility and good aeration, sandy loam is easy to obtain high yield, onion root system has weak fertilizer absorption capacity, and sufficient nutritional conditions are needed for high yield.
