In the process of crop planting, herbicide is a kind of pesticide which is common and widely used. So, what about herbicide damage?

First, how to do herbicide damage?

When the stems and leaves of crops are damaged by herbicides, it is necessary to spray clear water on the damaged plants two or three times continuously. For herbicides that are prone to decomposition of alkaline substances, 0.2% quicklime or sodium carbonate can be added to clear water, mixed evenly and sprayed. After washing with clean water, the damaged plants should be irrigated again, which can not only satisfy the large amount of water absorption of roots, reduce the concentration of drugs in crops, but also remove the residues of herbicides in the soil again.

Second, what are the causes of herbicide damage?

1. Improper selection of species

All kinds of herbicides have corresponding herbicide spectrum and applicable environment.  will make the selected herbicide varieties powerless or unable to exert their weeding ability if they are not selected according to the types of weeds and the specific conditions of the farmland. All kinds of herbicides have corresponding quality standards, among which the content of effective components, types and contents of impurities, dispersibility, emulsification and stability all directly affect the efficacy and damage. Both producers and operators are responsible for the efficacy and damage caused by the quality of pesticides.

2. The problem of applied dose

There are several reasons for the incorrect dosage: first, the subjective behavior of farmers always suspects that if the dosage is low, the weeding effect is not good, and the dosage will be increased to more than the limit. Once the environmental conditions are conducive to the efficacy, drug damage is inevitable. Second, the pesticide factory in order to show that the cost of its products is low, in order to adapt to the objective fact that the purchasing power of farmers is low, the recommended dose in the manual is very low, which can not guarantee the weeding effect; third, the area of farmers' cultivated land is not accurate, resulting in the rated dosage is not consistent with the actual area of cultivated land; fourth, uneven spraying, heavy spraying and leakage spraying, especially when using multi-nozzle sprayers, the different amount of liquid in each nozzle directly leads to uneven spraying.

3. Inappropriate period of medication

The earlier the stem and leaf treatment agents are used after the emergence of weeds, the better the effect, and the later the soil treatment agents are used before the emergence of weeds, the better, but the greater the possibility of drug damage to crops.

4. Wrong method of medication

Most of the soil treatment agents will produce drug damage when used as stem and leaf treatment, a few will have poor effect, and most of them will be ineffective when they are used as soil treatment, and the possibility of drug damage is very small.

5. The environmental conditions are uncomfortable.

① soil organic matter content less than 2% of the sandy soil, closed treatment is prone to drug damage, organic matter content more than 5% is very low.

The possibility of drug damage in heavy rain after the use of ② sealing treatment agent is high, and the treatment of stems and leaves should be re-sprayed.

The herbicidal effect of ③ at continuous low temperature decreased and the possibility of drug damage increased.

The efficacy of ④ soil drought sealing agent decreased or even ineffective.

The application of ⑤ III or above in windy days can not guarantee the uniform spraying, the efficacy is reduced, and drug damage may occur.

The quality of ⑥ soil preparation is not good and the effect of sealing treatment is not good.

In order to prevent drug damage caused by improper use of herbicides, we must strictly follow the use technology and standardize the operation.
