Judging from the prices of 22 kinds of vegetables monitored by the price department at the end of November, the prices of 17 kinds of vegetables increased compared with October, with an average increase of 35%.

Vegetable prices, which rose sharply in mid-November and continued to rise in December, began to show signs of falling in 2016.

Since the middle of November last year, the temperature dropped sharply in our city, coupled with continuous rain and snow, low temperature and low light, which had a great impact on the production and transportation of vegetables in our city, resulting in a general rise in vegetable prices in the market. Judging from the prices of 22 kinds of vegetables monitored by the price department at the end of November, the prices of 17 kinds of vegetables increased compared with October, with an average increase of 35%. Among them, spinach, cucumber, beans, green pepper, leek, rape, white eggplant and Chinese cabbage rose by more than 50%. The highest prices of beans, leeks, cucumbers and white eggplant are 9 yuan, 8 yuan, 7 yuan and 6 yuan per 500 grams, setting an all-time high in November.

In December 2015, vegetable prices continued to rise significantly. According to the 22 kinds of vegetables monitored, the prices of 16 kinds of vegetables are up, 5 kinds are flat, and 1 species are down compared with last month. The average price has risen by about 20%. An average increase of nearly 10% over the same period last year. The main reasons for the price rise are: first of all, at the beginning of winter this year, the temperature in our city is lower than that in previous years, and there is also more rain, snow and haze weather, which is not conducive to the growth of vegetables in the greenhouse, and vegetable production has declined significantly. Secondly, the supply of real estate vegetables is too small, and the imported food increases the cost of the vegetable price.

The reporter visited the market yesterday and found that the prices of some vegetable varieties have fallen. For example, in mid-November last year, the highest prices for beans, leeks, cucumbers and white eggplant were 9 yuan, 8 yuan, 7 yuan and 6 yuan per 500 grams. In December last year, white eggplant, leek and beans were sold at the highest market prices of 5 yuan, 8 yuan and 8 yuan per 500 grams respectively. The reporter learned in the Yonghong market yesterday that the retail prices of fresh first-class beans, leeks and cucumbers are 6 yuan, 5 yuan and 5 yuan respectively. It is lower than that in the last two months of last year. According to industry analysis, the decline in vegetable prices is related to the warmer weather.
