In nature, in addition to artificial transmission of seeds, there are some special ways to spread seeds. The following editor will introduce to you what can spread seeds.

The main ways of seed transmission are animal transmission, wind transmission, water transmission and self-ejection transmission.

I. Animal transmission

Cherry, wild grape, wild ginseng: rely on birds or other animals to eat seeds into the stomach, because they can not digest, they will be excreted and spread in all directions. Pine nuts are taken away by squirrels when they store food for the winter.

II. Water transmission

Coconut: spread by water. After the coconut is ripe, the coconut falls into the sea and floats far away with the sea.

Water lilies: the fruit of water lilies sinks to the bottom after ripening. When the pericarp is rotten, the seeds covered with a spongy outer seed coat float and float elsewhere.

III. Wind propagation

Some seeds grow into wings or feathery appendages and fly in the wind. Most of the seeds with feathery appendages are herbaceous plants, such as yellow quail of Compositae, and woody plants such as willow and kapok. In addition, some small seeds have a large relative ratio of surface area to weight, so that the seeds can drift away with the wind, like orchid seeds. The achene of the dandelion of the Compositae plant, the crown hair expands when ripe, like a parachute, fluttering in the wind, spreading the seeds far away.

IV. Self-ejection propagation

The fruit of impatiens will crack and send bullets in all directions, which is the way to mechanically spread seeds.

Sorrel: it is a very common wild weed with small yellow flowers and a five-angled capsule when the fruit is ripe.

The fruit cracked along the back of the fruit chamber, and the shell curled up and ejected the seed into the distance.

Gourd: a plant belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae. When the spray melon is ripe, the "melon" will fall off at the slightest touch, and the seeds in the "melon" will be sprayed out together with the sticky juice from the top, with a range of up to 5 meters, hence the name.

Bauhinia: it spreads seeds by elasticity. When the ripe fruit of Bauhinia is touched lightly, the fruit will crack, and the seed will be ejected by the elasticity of the peel, and the seed will be shot to a faraway place. There are also many legumes that transmit seeds mechanically.
