The soil of umbrella bamboo can be disinfected and sterilized by draining, breathable, neutral loam or peat soil containing humus. Umbrella bamboo likes water, regular water supply to keep moist, but also need to spray water to maintain humidity. Compound fertilizer can be used if base fertilizer is applied when changing pots and 1-2 times in spring and autumn. The suitable temperature for growth is about 15-25 ℃, which is moved to keep warm indoors in winter. It can withstand shade, but it needs to provide plenty of sunshine.
