Planting time: the seeds were sown from March to April in the north and from late February to early March in the south. Soaking seeds to promote germination: pick out new seeds with full particles and high germination rate, and soak seeds for 8-10 days. Colonization: when the seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, they can be planted. Scaffolding: scaffolding should be carried out when the seedlings grow to 25cm. Artificial pollination: if you have honey to help pollinate, you can save this step. Water and fertilizer: add fertilizer and moisture after fruit setting.

First, planting time

1. Small gourd can be divided into spring planting and autumn planting. Generally, planting in spring needs to be fixed according to the temperature. If it is in the north, it is recommended to start sowing in March-April, while in the south, it is recommended to sow seeds from late February to early March.

2. For autumn planting, it is recommended to sow seeds in the open field from August to September, because the temperature in this period is higher, there are more Rain Water, and the growth rate of small gourd seedlings is faster, so there is a difference in planting density, which is lower than that sown in spring.

Second, soaking seeds to accelerate germination

Need to pick out full particles, high germination rate, the new seeds of the year, not old seeds, and then select the small gourd seeds, put the temperature of 70 ℃ hot water, and then stir, wait until the water temperature dropped to 30 ℃, continue to soak seeds for 8-10 days, wait until most of the small gourd seeds appear white spots, you can sow.

III. Colonization

Generally, after sowing, when the small gourd seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, it can be planted, and the time for planting is very important. Try to choose a sunny time for planting, so that the slow seedling time will be shortened, which is conducive to early growth. Before planting, it is necessary to water through the seedbed to avoid root damage.

Fourth, set up a fight

Small gourd is a kind of vine, when the seedlings grow to 25cm, it is necessary to set up a frame to facilitate its winding growth. Binding vines is not recommended to choose overcast and rainy days to avoid breaking due to too much water.

5. Artificial pollination

Artificial pollination is needed to improve the fruit setting rate of small gourd, which can be omitted if honey is used to help pollinate.

VI. Water and fertilizer

The early growth of small gourd does not need too much fertilizer and water, and then increase fertilizer and water after fruit setting, which needs to be applied reasonably according to the growth situation and season of small gourd.

7. Picking

The small gourd should be picked immediately after it is mature to avoid windy weather, and the small gourd will be blown to the ground and broken. Generally, the skin of the small gourd becomes white, and at the same time, there are many varieties of small gourd that represent maturity. There are also some differences in its size and shape, such as rod-shaped, pot-shaped, dolphin-shaped and so on. In the past, small gourd was often used as an appliance for loading wine or things.
