Loquat is a fruit on the market in spring in our province with high market price and good benefit. Loquat usually blossoms in autumn and winter, and the flowering period is about 90 days. As blooming and fruiting consumes a lot of nutrients and is vulnerable to freezing injury in winter, strengthening the management of loquat in autumn and winter is the guarantee to obtain high quality and high yield. Mainly focus on the following three aspects.

First, re-apply overwintering fertilizer. At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, an annular ditch with a depth of 30 cm and a width of 40 cm was dug under the loquat drip line. Generally, each fruiting tree was treated with 20 kg of bovine and pig manure, 1.5 kg of compound fertilizer and 2 kg of bran fertilizer. At the same time, about 10 cm of soil was cultivated around the tree disk to protect the root system and improve the plant's ability to survive the winter.

Second, foliar fertilizer should be applied. In the flower bud stage and young fruit stage of loquat, 0.2% urea, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.2% borax solution and 2000 times pyrethrin solution were sprayed once every 7-10 days to wet all branches and leaves evenly for 2-3 times, which could increase the fruit setting rate of loquat and promote the expansion of young loquat fruit.

Third, prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. The mixture of dichlorvos (1000 times) and Zhibaoling (800 times) was sprayed before and after flowering to prevent loquat flowers and fruits from being damaged by diseases and pests such as poisonous moths and leaf spots, reduce flower and fruit drop and increase yield.
