Last Updated: 2024/11/05, After high grafting, litchi should do a good job of sun protection and ant protection, timely and regularly remove the new shoots on the rootstock and pumping branches, so that nutrients are concentrated in the scion, so as to facilitate the growth and development of new shoots. After high grafting, litchi should do a good job of sun protection and ant protection, timely and regularly remove the new shoots on the rootstock and pumping branches, so that nutrients are concentrated in the scion, so as to facilitate the growth and development of new shoots. After the grafting survived, the pumping branches were cut off in batches, after the first shoot turned green completely, some of the sucking branches were cut off, after the secondary shoots were fully mature, some of the draining branches were cut off, and all the draining branches were cut off in spring and summer the following year.

After the grafting survived, due to the low degree of Lignification of the graft interface, it was easy to be blown apart in case of strong wind. When the storm comes, the branches and leaves can be cut off properly, or the joint of rootstocks and scions can be fastened with bamboo pole to prevent the grafting interface from being torn. The buds that cannot penetrate the film should be picked in time; the plastic film tape that binds the joint or also plays the role of sealing should be cut and released from the side after the new shoot is ripe; if a thin film bag or plastic film tube is added during grafting, after the bud germinates, cut through the top of the bag (tube) to make the new shoot grow smoothly.

Try not to irrigate the scion before budding. After the scion germinates, the new shoots can be fertilized for the first time, and fertilizer will be applied 1-2 times in each shoot period, irrigation during drought and drainage during waterlogging to prevent excessive dryness and waterlogging. After each shoot extraction, 90% trichlorfon 800 times or 40% dimethoate 1000 times should be sprayed 1-2 times to control the harm of litchi bugs, leaf rollers and inchworms.
