[Distribution and harm] Hydrangea macrophylla (Hydrangea macrophylla), also known as hydrangea, is a deciduous shrub. Virus infection was more common, and ring spot was the most common.

Generally hidden, seriously ill dwarfs, flowers less or no flowers.

[Symptoms] The leaves shrink and the stems sometimes show necrotic spots. Inoculated with diseased plants, the old leaves showed chlorotic spots, brown ring spots or oak leaves.

[Pathogen] Virus HyRSV, also belongs to potato Y virus group. The particles are linear, 470~650nm×13nm in length. The lethal temperature is 70~75℃. Dilution endpoint 10-5. The survival period in vitro was 21~35 days (at room temperature). This virus has distant serological relationship with potato virus X, cacti virus X, white clover mosaic virus, etc.

[Pathogenesis] Hydrangea is the only natural host. Artificial inoculation can infect more than 20 species of plants. Gilead, anise and cucumber can be used as differential hosts. Primula can be used as a reproductive host. Perennial root with disease was the main infection source. Cutting or branching can transmit disease, grafting or tools can also carry disease.

[Prevention and control measures] Pay attention to tool disinfection. Select disease-free mother plants for reproduction or heat treatment at 38℃ for 4 weeks. Cultivate resistant varieties.
