Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Lemon is one of the least cold-resistant citrus species, suitable for warmer winter, summer is not hot, the temperature is more stable place. If you want lemons to bloom and bear more fruits, you must scientifically manage them in water, fertilizer and pruning to improve their fruit setting.

Lemon is one of the most hardy species of citrus, which is suitable for places with warmer winter, less hot summer and stable temperature.

If lemons want to blossom and bear more fruit, scientific management must be carried out in water, fertilizer, pruning and other links in order to improve the fruit setting rate and commodity value of lemons.

I. Fertilizer and Water Management Technology

0.2% zinc sulfate was applied once after spring bud germination, and was sprayed with "melon and fruit Zhuangtiling" + 0.4% 0.5% urea + 0.2% 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate before flowering, young fruit and fruit expansion. In order to maintain sufficient soil moisture after the young fruit is stable, the key is to water thoroughly in the first 10 days of early spring. When the fruit is yellow and ripe, stop fertilizing and reduce watering to keep the soil moist and slightly dry. If you continue to give too much fertilizer and water, the fruit will mature and fall early.

Second, control summer shoots

During the period of fruit growth, if the fertilizer and water are sufficient and the plant nutrition is good, some branches will sprout new shoots, and the growth of new shoots will inevitably divert some nutrients, which will affect the growth of fruit and is not conducive to flower bud differentiation. In order to preserve the fruit, the new shoots should be erased and pruned in time. Trim the wound with "callus preservative film" and smear the sterilization in time.

Third, protect flowers and fruits

Lemon has the characteristic of vigorous growth, which can be controlled by means of root cutting, water control, branch ring cutting and so on. During the flowering period from May to June, the ring cutting technique was used to cut the smooth part of the trunk with a blunt blade to reach the xylem, and then smeared with "promoting Flower King 2" to protect flowers and fruits and control summer shoot bolting.

IV. Spraying boron fertilizer

Boron-deficient orchards can be sprayed with 0.1%-0.2% borax during flower bud differentiation, and then sprayed once after flowering to improve fruit rate and fruit quality.

Through the above new measures to protect flowers and fruits of lemon trees, we can ensure sufficient nutrients and centralized supply of nutrients in the flowering and fruit stage, so as to achieve stable and high yield.
