How to manage persimmon trees in winter
In winter, there are three key points in the management of persimmon orchard, namely, fattening, pruning and clearing the garden.
Increase fertilizer and improve soil
Persimmon is a deep-rooted tree species, which should be expanded to improve soil and fertilizer in order to flourish. Persimmon trees should be expanded to improve soil in winter. The holes are 1-1.5 meters long, 0.4 meters wide and 0.4-0.5 meters deep. When backfilling topsoil, the plant applies 100-150 kg of soil miscellaneous fertilizer or 50 kg dry pig and cow manure or 100-150 kg of mushroom soil or 1-1.5 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, etc., mix well with the topsoil and fill the lower layer, the hole surface is filled with garden topsoil, or the soil can be deeply turned over and improved, that is, organic fertilizer is sprinkled on the crown dripping line, and then turned 20 cm deep at the whisker root.
Pruning branches
The adult trees with tall crown or shaded branches should be moderately retracted and pruned after defoliation in winter, and the combination of short pruning and sparse pruning should be adopted to cut off dense branches, cross branches, overgrown branches and diseased branches, so as to promote the reasonable distribution of branches and cut into a reasonable tree posture.
Clear the garden in winter
Winter pruning should thoroughly remove diseased fruit, diseased stalk, withered branches and fallen leaves, and remove the source of overwintering diseases and insect pests. Persimmon trees with serious damage to shell insects should be sprayed with 95% oil emulsion (scale paraben) 150 times or Baume 5 degree stone sulfur mixture before defoliation in winter to sprouting in spring.
