American blackberry has the advantages of cold resistance, drought resistance, moisture resistance, pest resistance, vigorous growth, strong branching ability and easy reproduction. It bears fruit in the same year when it is planted, and generally enters the high yield period in the third year. The yield per hectare can be stabilized at about 26.25 tons. It is rich in sugar, fruit acids and a variety of vitamins, but also contains a variety of minerals, anti-aging and improve human immunity and other effects. The cultivation method is as follows:

Blackberry seedling propagation is very easy, mainly to cuttage. Choose fertile soil, cool slightly damp (but not ponding) place for nursery best, choose mature new branches, leave 2 buds cut can be. Cutting time is December to January of the following year. If the management of water and fertilizer is strengthened, the seedlings with good growth can be obtained in the same year, and the branches can reach 4~5 and the height is more than 2 meters. Some mature branches can bear fruit in the same year, but the fruit quality is not hanging.

Garden selection Select Sunny. The sandy loam with convenient irrigation and loose soil is used as garden plot. Blackberry is better planted in cool and wet land, but its quality, especially sugar acid ratio, is slightly affected.

The planting spacing is generally 2x2 meters, and 2550 plants are planted per hectare. The planting hole is required to be 60 x 60 x 60 cm. After applying organic fertilizer, calcium superphosphate, vegetable cake or burnt mud, etc., it can be planted by covering 30 cm thick fertile soil. The planting period is from October to January of the following year. The root system is relaxed during planting and watered after planting. Pay attention to watering in the early stage of planting to prevent drought.

Water and fertilizer management Fertilization 4 times a year. Apply base fertilizer in October, mainly organic fertilizer, calcium superphosphate, burnt mud or vegetable cake. At the end of January, pre-emergence fertilizer was applied, mainly imported compound fertilizer. In the middle and late July, the fertilizer was mainly available nitrogen fertilizer (dilute human excrement or urea). Pay attention to drainage of garden plot, dry garden plot as much as possible during fruit maturity, which is conducive to improving sugar acidity.

After planting blackberry seeds, it is necessary to set up a frame, which is 1.8~2 meters high, and can be used as a fence and a shed. The new shoots are distributed on the shelf surface for 30 cm each, so that they do not overlap.

Because the new shoots sprouted from the rhizosphere of blackberry are the fruit mother branches of the second year, and grow very strongly, in order to promote its maturity and multi-branching, it is necessary to carry out regular topping. In order to reduce nutrient consumption, branches that have borne fruit in the current year can be cut off from the base in August to September after bearing fruit to concentrate nutrients and cultivate new shoots, and pay attention to binding new shoots frequently.

The pruning period in winter is from December to late January of the following year, and 8~20 buds can be cut short according to the maturity of new shoots (fruiting mother shoots). The general pruning principle is mainly light pruning, the fruiting mother branches are spaced 50 cm apart on the shelf, and the excess is cut off.
