Post-harvest management of apple trees that grow apples
It is now late autumn and the apples are ripe and some are beginning to be harvested. Farmers should pay attention to three management measures after harvest.
Apply base fertilizer early. After the fruit harvest, is the root of the third growth peak came, is a good time to apply basal fertilizer. The basic fertilizer dosage of orchard in full fruit period is 4000~5000 kg farm manure, 20 kg urea, 80 kg phosphorus fertilizer and 30 kg potassium fertilizer per mu. At the same time, appropriate trace elements are added according to the deficiency condition, and the whole garden is deeply ploughed about 20~30 cm; the initial fruit orchard can be excavated radially and strip-shaped furrow to apply basic fertilizer, the depth and width of the furrow should be more than 50 cm, and the fertilizer application amount shall be halved with that of full fruit orchard.
Post-harvest pruning. One is to clear the excessive long branches in the crown, the upright tender shoots sprouted in autumn, girdling, the sprouts near the ring cut and the restraining branches reserved in summer. The second is to retract slender branches, senescent drooping branches, mopping techniques, thinning thin and weak branches, ineffective branches with no light at the bottom and prosperous branches in the middle and upper parts, reducing nutrient consumption, promoting branch enrichment, full bud body, favorable for overwintering.
Clean up the orchard. After harvest, prune the orchard, cut off all kinds of diseased branches and buds, sawn and scrape off branches with rot disease, collect and destroy them properly at any time, thoroughly clean up the residual branches, fallen leaves, diseases, insect pests and rotten fruits in the orchard, bury them deeply, destroy the hiding places of insect cocoons on branches and thick and warped skin slits, thoroughly clean the orchard, eliminate the source of insect diseases, and leave no dead corners, so as to create a good ecological environment for apple production in the coming year.
