How to prune and plant jujube trees in spring

The small crown has a thinning layer shape and a stem height of 80 cm and 90 cm, which suppresses the secondary branches on the trunk and promotes the development of 3 jujube heads, so that the uppermost jujube heads extend upward and become the trunk extension branches, and the lower 2 jujube heads are cultured as the main branches. In the second year, the main branch was cut short by about 60 cm, except for 2 or 3 secondary branches under the shearing mouth, forming two two-layer main branches and one trunk extension branch. In this way, the tree shape of one middle trunk and five main branches is basically formed. The main branch on the trunk is generally not truncated. When it grows to about 90 cm, it can be coring. The main branch is the basic unit of fruit, which opens naturally after fruiting, and after being maintained for 7-8 years, the fruiting position moves out and the yield begins to decline, which should be renewed in time. That is, the dry height of 1 meter will be reduced, and the original old branches on the trunk will be trimmed to begin the second round of plastic surgery.

The cylindrical shape of the tree can be used to sit on the ground or to plant rootstock seedlings before grafting. The growth of new shoots in the year of grafting can reach 1 to 2 meters, but it does not need to be pruned. When it reaches more than 2 meters in the second year, it will be peeled and dried, and it can bear fruit in the third year. In the fifth and sixth years, the secondary branches on the trunk began to germinate jujube, and the branches with suitable position, direction and growth were selected as the main branches, and the excess shoots were erased in time when they just germinated. This kind of tree can last for about 10 years. If the cylindrical shape continues to be used after the update, it can be severely retracted near the ground, and a strong jujube can be cultivated after branching; if it is to be changed to a small crown and sparse layer shape, it can be retracted at about 1 meter from the ground, and the original branches on the trunk can be cut off to start the second round of plastic surgery.
