Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Cotton red leaf stem blight is a physiological disease, and it is one of the main diseases in the middle and later stage of cotton. Over the years, the occurrence of red leaf stem blight in sandy loam and barren cotton fields in our county is relatively serious. Cotton red leaf stem blight is a physiological disease, and it is one of the main diseases in the middle and later stage of cotton. over the years, the occurrence of red leaf stem blight in sandy loam and barren cotton fields in our county is more serious. Red leaf stem blight broke out in dry years, especially in rainy or rainy weather for a long time. Cotton plant withered and died, and the damage caused by the disease was greater than that caused by other diseases.

Control methods: the occurrence of red leaf stem blight is closely related to soil, fertilizer, water, climate, farming system and other environmental conditions. therefore, the prevention and control of the disease should be taken to increase the application of organic fertilizer, improve soil, increase potassium fertilizer, strengthen field management and prevent cotton from fertilizer deficiency in the later stage. In the cotton flower and boll stage timely topdressing, pay attention to the application of potash fertilizer. In the years of drought and little rain, the cotton fields without irrigation conditions can be ditched with plant ash, rare manure and urine for 3 times, and the disease control effect is good.

At the initial stage of the disease, foliar spraying of potash fertilizer can be carried out, and 2% potassium chloride (either potassium sulfate or potassium nitrate) or nitrogen fertilizer solution can be sprayed, or 100 kilograms of plant ash can be applied per mu, which has a significant effect on disease prevention and yield increase. Drought and lack of water in cotton fields should be ditched in time to fight drought, but do not flood irrigation.

Medicament can be used to prevent and cure the disease in time. Methods: spraying 30ml amino acid + 5ml propiconazole + 40g high quality potassium dihydrogen phosphate + 30g zinc boron fertilizer and spraying 15kg water for 3 times every 7 days can effectively control cotton red leaf stem blight.
