Before sowing, combined with deep ploughing and land preparation, 3500 kg of rotten stable fertilizer or soil miscellaneous fertilizer was applied as base fertilizer, and then made the bed.

2. Methods of reproduction

Bupleurum is mostly propagated by seedling transplanting method. Seedling raising is generally carried out from late March to late April. Soak the seeds in warm water of 40 ℃ for 12 hours before sowing, then remove the shrunken seeds floating on the surface of the water, remove the full seeds from the bottom, dry them on the whole border surface, sow the seeds in a shallow trench with a row spacing of 10cm, the ditch depth is 1.5cm, mix the seeds with fire soil ash, spread them evenly into the ditch, cover the soil and the border surface evenly, water them with a fine hole spray can after a little pressure, and finally cover with plastic film or grass to keep warm and moisturizing. After collecting the seedlings, immediately remove the mulch, strengthen the management, cultivate for one year, and come out of the nursery for planting in the next spring.

From the first and middle of March to the first and middle of April of the following year, on the finished border surface, the horizontal trench was opened according to the row spacing of 20 cm, the ditch depth was 10 cm, a seedling was placed every 15 cm, the root tip was close to the bottom of the ditch, the root system should be straightened out, the root water should be irrigated, and then the soil should be covered with the border surface flat.

3. Field management

(1) in spring, when the seedlings of Bupleurum are more than 10 cm high, they should loosen the soil and weed, and then ploughing and weeding once a month until the row is closed.

(2) during the period of vegetative growth in the first year, topdressing Bupleurum is mainly nitrogen fertilizer, which needs topdressing for 3 times. The first time in mid-late April, 2000 kg per mu of rotten acquaintance feces and urine per mu; the second in late June or early July, 2000 kg per mu of human feces and urine and 100kg of cake fertilizer per mu; the third time, when the plant withered after autumn, 2000 kg of rotten stable manure or soil fertilizer and 30 kg of superphosphate per mu. During the period of reproductive growth in the second year, it was mainly phosphate fertilizer, which also needed to be fertilized for 3 times. In the first and middle of April, 2500 kg of feces and urine of acquaintances or 30 kg of urea were applied per mu, 40 kg of superphosphate or 200 kg of cake fertilizer per mu in late June, and 30 kg of compound fertilizer per mu in the middle of August. Topdressing should be combined with ploughing and weeding and trenching around the rhizosphere of the plant.

(3) removal of flower buds when flower buds appear from late July to early August, they will be removed except the seed field, so as to concentrate nutrients for the growth of underground rhizomes, promote their fatness, and improve their yield and quality.

(4) drainage Bupleurum is afraid of waterlogging, in the rainy summer season, we should pay attention to ditch drainage, so as not to cause root rot.

4. Bupleurum is generally harvested after the second year of sowing. When the plant withered or sprouted in the next spring, dig up the underground roots, shake off the soil, remove the stems and leaves, and then sell them by stages after drying.
