1. Land selection and preparation

2. Methods of reproduction

Licorice can be propagated by seed and rhizome.

Spring and autumn sowing every year, spring sowing in March-April, autumn sowing in August-September. Licorice seeds are not easy to germinate because of their thick seed coat and poor water permeability. The seed should be treated before sowing, and the treatment method: knead the seed coat with coarse sand to make the seed coat rough and thin, increase the water permeability or put the seed on a grinding plate with a thickness of 3 cm. When grinding the seed coat, pay attention to the change of licorice seed coat. When the seed coat is green and white, soak the seed in 40 ℃ warm water for 10 hours. Hole sowing is usually used when sowing. Adventitious buds on the rhizome of licorice can grow into new plants, so they can be propagated by rhizome. The rhizome for reproduction should be 0.5-1.5 cm in diameter, cut into 15-20 cm long segments, with 5 adventitious buds in each segment, and be planted in early April or late October every year. On the whole ground, the row spacing is 50ml 60cm, the plant spacing is 25cm, the hole depth is 15cm, the depth of the hole in salinized wasteland and arid land can be up to 20cm, and the rhizome is placed in two sections of each hole, and the soil is properly suppressed after planting.
