Last Updated: 2024/11/06, After the Beginning of Winter, the citrus harvest is finished, seizing the opportunity to apply winter fertilizer in time is of great significance for the healthy growth of citrus trees and ensuring stable, high quality and high yield. The overwintering fertilizer after fruit harvest is also the citrus base fertilizer, and its fertilizer amount should account for the total amount of fertilizer applied in the whole year.

After "the Beginning of Winter", after citrus harvest, it is of great significance for citrus trees to grow healthily and ensure stable, high quality and high yield by applying winter fertilizer in time.

The winter fertilizer after fruit harvest is also the citrus base fertilizer, and its fertilizer amount should account for 50% and 70% of the total fertilizer application in the whole year. The main significance of applying winter fertilizer is:

The main results are as follows: (1) Citrus plants consume too many nutrients after high yield harvest.

(2) the organic fertilizer applied into the soil is slowly decomposed under the activity of microorganisms, which is beneficial to the gradual absorption and utilization of citrus in winter when the growth slows down and the root absorptive capacity becomes weaker, so that more organic nutrients can be accumulated in the tree. for the need of sprouting and flowering in spring next year.

(3) the orange tree after fruit harvest can restore the tree potential as soon as possible.

(4) it has a good function of protecting leaves, prolonging leaf life and preventing citrus leaves from falling in winter.

(5) it is beneficial to stable and high yield and improve the quality of orange trees.

(6) greatly enhance the ability of anti-freezing and drought resistance of orange trees. Winter fertilizer should be based on organic fertilizer. Each adult orange tree should apply rotten cow and pig pen manure 100 jin, rotten turf soil 100 jin, cake fertilizer 3 jin, phosphate fertilizer 4 jin, potash fertilizer 3 jin, lime 3 jin, and lime 3 jin. At the same time, plants can apply 3 jin of ripe beans, 3 jin of withered cake, 3 jin of phosphate fertilizer, 1 jin of urea and 4 jin of lime.

The main methods of fertilization are:

(1) dig arc-shaped or ring-shaped deep trenches along the crown, with a depth of about 50 cm. The width of the ditch depends on the amount of fertilizer, and the cut-off roots are cut off. When digging ditches, the surface and subsoil should be stacked separately, and organic fertilizers such as cattle and pig manure, turf and withered cakes should be applied to the lower layer, and nitrogen fertilizer should be put on the upper layer. The trees with thick green leaves or large amount of fruit should appropriately increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Trees with weak performance should appropriately increase available nitrogen fertilizer. When leveling the ditch, fill in the more fertile topsoil first, and fill the subsoil on the surface.

(2) fertilization in radial ditch. Six shoot-shaped grooves were opened according to the size of the crown and along the direction of horizontal root growth. The bottom of the groove was shallower near the trunk and deeper to the projection of the crown. The fertilizer distribution of this method is wider than that of ring ditch fertilization, and it can change the fertilization position every other year, expand the fertilizer application area and promote root absorption, which is especially suitable for adult citrus orchards. The application of winter fertilizer should be finished by mid-December at the latest. It is better to carry out two times of extra-root topdressing before freezing, spraying 0.4% urea and 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and so on.
