Last Updated: 2024/11/05, 1) single bud bark grafting can be grafted every day from May to September when the rootstock begins to leave the skin. The rootstock is a sour jujube tree with an age of less than 5 years and a diameter of about 1.5 cm, and it is suitable for the scion to choose the developing branches without disease and insect pests. 2) subcutaneous grafting from spring rootstock trees

1) single bud bark grafting can be grafted every day from May to September when the rootstock begins to leave the skin. The rootstock is a sour jujube tree with an age of less than 5 years and a diameter of about 1.5 cm, and it is suitable for the scion to choose the developing branches without disease and insect pests.

2) subcutaneous grafting can be grafted from the beginning of sap flow in spring to the beginning of September, but the best period is from the end of April to the end of June. The rootstock is a robust acid tree with a diameter of 1.5-2.0 cm, and a full-growing annual developmental branch is selected as the scion. The grafting site should be 5 cm above the underground horizontal root. Wendilou Township, Jin County, Liaoning Province, using this method, the survival rate is more than 90% in the year of severe drought.

3) split grafting is suitable for 15-20 days before the rootstock is peeled in early spring. The rootstock is more than 1.5 cm in diameter, and the scion is a full-growing one-year-old branch. Do not bring soil particles into the interface during grafting so as not to affect wound healing. After being connected, bury the interface with fine wet soil and pat it with your hands until it is 5-6 cm above the top of the scion, and then cover the surface with a layer of dry soil.

4) T-shaped bud grafting can be carried out from mid-May to mid-August, and July is the best. In spring, the main buds of last year's jujube are used as buds, while in summer and autumn, the main buds of the same year's jujube heads can be used as buds. The specific method is to first cut a knife at 0.5 cm above the scion bud, and then cut upward from 1.5 cm under the bud, take a long shield-shaped bud with a xylem tip and insert it into the interface of the rootstock, gently peel off the interface cortex to both sides, and then insert the bud to align the top of the bud with the horizontal cut of the rootstock, then tie the bud with plastic strips from the bottom to the top, and expose the bud. The early ones can germinate in the same year, and the late ones can germinate the following year.
