Control of iron deficiency yellow leaf disease in growing jujube
Distribution and harm: yellow leaf disease occurs in many jujube areas, among which iron deficiency yellow leaf disease is more common, which is a physiological disease. It can cause the weakness of the tree, affect the yield of jujube, and cause the death of the tree when it is serious.
Symptoms: mild iron deficiency yellow leaf disease can make some leaves of jujube yellow, but the leaf veins are still green, which is the most obvious feature of iron deficiency yellow leaf disease. In severe cases, the leaves of jujube trees all turn yellow, even albino. The diseased tree has a small amount of flowers, it is not easy to set fruit, the development of branches is not full, and the tree gradually weakens, even dies. The disease is easy to occur in jujube trees, and it is serious from May to June.
Pathogen: the disease is caused by the lack of absorbable iron in the soil. Iron ion is an important substance in the formation of chlorophyll. the lack of absorbable iron in soil hinders the formation of chlorophyll and leads to yellow leaf disease, especially in saline-alkali soil.
Third, the law of occurrence: when the pH value of alkaline soil is more than 8, yellow leaf disease is easy to occur. Due to the storage of trees and the existence of a small amount of iron absorbed in the soil, the leaves were still green at the beginning of leaf development, and the iron needed for growth and development increased during the long period of shoot speed and leaf development, while iron deficiency occurred in soil supply, especially in the top leaves of new shoots.
IV. Prevention and control methods
1. Strengthen the management, apply more organic fertilizer, turn the soil deeply and improve the soil.
2. Combined with fertilization in autumn, 100-250g ferrous sulfate was applied according to the size of the tree.
3. During the period of branch and leaf expansion of jujube, foliar fertilizer was used to supplement iron. Can spray 8-1000 times ferrous sulfate on the tree, once every 10 days, 3-5 times in a row.

How to prevent cracking and drying of Jujube trees in Young stage
Jujube trees have been developed in a large area in Yining County. when there is heavy snow in winter, when the snow melts in spring, the trunk below the snow line (about 20 cm high) is soaked by snow water, blown by the wind, and rots and explodes the skin. as a result, the transport tissue of the tree was blocked and dried up and died.

Four grafting methods commonly used in planting jujube
1) single bud bark grafting can be grafted every day from May to September when the rootstock begins to leave the skin. The rootstock is a sour jujube tree with an age of less than 5 years and a diameter of about 1.5 cm, and it is suitable for the scion to choose the developing branches without disease and insect pests. 2) subcutaneous grafting from spring rootstock trees
