Summer is an important period for peach tree shoot growth and fruit expansion. Strengthening peach orchard management is the key to yield increase in this year and next year.

1. Look at tree fertilization: in late May, apply topdressing to peach trees with more fruits and weaker tree potential this year. On the contrary, the peach trees with less fruit and stronger tree vigor should not be fertilized. When fertilizing, dig a circular fertilizing ditch with a length of about 1 meter, a depth of 0.25 meters and a width of 0.25 meters at the dripping position of the crown. Adult fruit trees are fertilized with 40- 50kg of decomposed human, livestock and poultry fertilizer, 0.3- 0.4kg of ammonium phosphate (or 0.25kg of urea and 0.5- 0.8kg of calcium superphosphate), and then returned to the soil to cover the nest. Fertilize the small trees in half amount, and apply topdressing to the peach trees outside the roots at the same time. Spray 0.1% Lvfenwei No.1 foliar fertilizer (or 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 0.3% urea mixed fertilizer solution) once every 15-20 days for 4-5 times continuously.

II. Drainage and waterlogging prevention: peach trees are afraid of waterlogging. June-July is rainy season. The main ditch and back ditch should be dredged and cleaned frequently. Do a good job in peach orchard drainage, especially in low-lying peach orchards, dig the main ditch and back ditch 0.5 meters deep and 0.3 meters wide respectively to lower the groundwater level and facilitate the growth of peach trees.

3. Summer pruning: summer pruning of peach trees in May-June. (1) bud stripping: remove the long bud in the crown bore and the competitive bud under the shear, twin bud, etc., when the new shoot grows to 50-60 cm, carry out stripping. (2) Branch pulling and twisting: For upright peach trees growing vigorously, adopt the methods of branch pulling, branch hanging and branch supporting, increase the angle of main branches and ease the tree potential. At the same time, the vertical long branches and other prosperous long branches twisted 180 degrees, but do not twist, so that it from upward growth to lateral growth, promote long branches into fruit branches. (3) Spraying hormones: When the secondary branches of peach trees grow to about 60 cm, spray 15% paclobutrazol wettable powder 500 times solution once, which can effectively control their growth and promote flower bud differentiation.

4. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests: in May and June, spray tree crown with 80% anthracnose or 75% chlorothalonil 800 times or carbendazim 800-1000 times continuously for 3 times to prevent and control gum disease, anthracnose, etc. For trees that have lost gum, scrape off the disease spots first, and then add thiophanate-methyl wettable powder into edible vinegar solution or apply the affected parts with 402 sterilization 100 times solution. At the same time, the tree crown spraying 2-3 times 50% enemy kill 1500 times liquid, 20% anti-aphidol or 1200 times liquid mixture liquid, control peach moth, aphid, peach small (or pear small) fruit borer, etc.

5. Intertillage and weeding: In sunny days in summer, artificial weeding shall be adopted for peach orchards without crops, and weeds shall be buried in tree crown dripping place, or weeds shall be covered under peach trees. Mixed liquid medicine of glyphosate (Roundup) and Gramoxone herbicide can also be sprayed in peach orchards. After weeds die, it plays a covering role, which is beneficial to moisture and drought resistance. In autumn, it shall be ploughed into soil to increase soil organic matter.
